Wrong. Annas Archive doesn't Accept Uploads directly themselves (at least <10.000), and they recommend STC too.

To upload academic papers, please also (in addition to Library Genesis) upload to STC Nexus. They are the best shadow library for new papers.

Somehow the night Train is still completely booked out every time I Take it, weeks in advance, despite "top Dollar" prices.

And Hotel rooms usually also don't get cheaper If you travel alone and Not as a Couple

The Danish government has announced a huge boost in defence spending for Greenland, hours after US President-elect Donald Trump repeated his desire to purchase the Arctic territory. Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said the package was a "double digit billion amount" in krone, or at least $1.5bn (£1.2bn). He described the timing of the announcement as an "irony of fate". On Monday Trump said ownership and control of the huge island was an "absolute necessity" for the US. Greenland, an autonomous Danish territory, is home to a large US space facility and is strategically important for the US, lying on its shortest route to Europe. It has major mineral and oil reserves.

Taking the TGV from Strasbourg to Montpellier still gets you a Lot of painful slow legs inbetween. And they aren't very comfortable for long journeys.

Also the French Global Price system with Random timetables and mandatory Reservations Sucks badly

That does not mean it didn’t reduce them.

Yes that's explicitly what they meant. Most new passengers were people who were Walking or cycling before, but not a Lot of people who were driving before

Then you say the tram in Montpellier isn’t good, like what on earth does that have to do with anything?

That you should Invest the funds used for free Public Transport in improving the Network and it's quality.

Don't get me wrong, you should still offer cheap/free Tickets to People who need them, but nothing wrong to collect additional funds to finance the system

You mean Like in Tallin, Estonia?

https://news.err.ee/1608136915/audit-report-free-county-public-transport-has-not-fulfilled-goals

Or with the 9€ Ticket in Germany?

https://www.diw.de/de/diw_01.c.869821.de/9-euro-ticket_hat_menschen_nicht_nachhaltig_zum_umstieg_vom_auto_in_bus_und_bahn_bewegt.html

The Countries with a high Share of Public Transport in the Modal Split like Switzerland have one Thing in Common, an extremely dense, Frequent and reliable public Transport System. The price isn't Just that important,

Just because someone has a different opinion than you, doesn't make it "Propagandist".

(I travel exclusively by Public Transport and I would love to have the Same quality as in Switzerland, but here everyone wants stupid cOmPeTiTiOn and lOw pRiCe Bro, and the quality in Germany is horrible. Montpellier is also not great, I've visited many Times for Holidays, and during the day it's okay, but the Tram Service terminates way to early in the evening. The prices were also already very cheap before it went "free")

East Germany doing East Germany things.

I mean they also don't believe the normal media anymore. They will just parrot what Putins Propaganda spoonfeeds them in their Telegram Groups and "Alternative Media"

There has also been hostility towards journalists over the past few days, especially after some 2,000 people joined a protest by the far right in Magdeburg on Saturday night. The Association of German Journalists said there had been aggression and threats against the press and appealed for greater police protection.

Those people and areas are a lost cause.

How is Manifest v3, Fingerprinting and the proposed "Web Integrity API" not enshittification?

They would have gone even further with this, if Firefox wouldn't exist. And Firefox is on life Support, because they can't afford for it to Go away otherwise they would have the Antitrust regulators Breathing down their neck

[-] albert180@discuss.tchncs.de 13 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

No, not every company can afford to Bulldoze the competition in the Browser Market because they have indefinite deep pockets from the Ad Business.

If that unfair advantage goes away there will be more competition again in the Browser Segment .

Also Marketshare can grow and shrink quick

[-] albert180@discuss.tchncs.de 47 points 1 day ago

Google can Set Standards to their own Advantage, e.g. with regards to Tracking which reinforces their Monopoly on Things Like Ads, the Same reason they crippled all the AdBlockers with ManifestV3 on Chromium-based Browsers

And the only alternative that isn't Chromium-based is Firefox. (Or Safari with WebKit). All other Browsers use Chromium

So it would be really good for everyone if they were forced to sell Chrome
