Sure and I agree, I just don’t think it’ll be able to get to the TikTok magic of literally diagnosing you accurately with diseases you didn’t know you had lol. But I suppose that’s fine without.

Copyright and ethics

I don’t hate ANYONE at Tesla other than Elon. If they could give him the boot I’d probably buy from them forever. Except I do like the look of the rivians.

What is rotoscoping. It looks like Joel Haver

There are 8 logic gates in a byte?

I mean are we talking NAND RAM? Lol

I remember it too. I just also remember how much of a quality improvement career YouTubers made. It’s still a good and valid thing imo, they make good videos for money. All platforms should facilitate that. Not facilitating that brings us back to an internet I honestly don’t think had a lot of value, just random family videos mostly.

With instance subscriptions you could cut out the huge cut Google takes and make creator unions essentially much easier to make.

He didn’t say driving a 10yo car tho. He said buying a 10yo car! I would never buy a 10yo car. I would buy a 1-5yo. Buying used is great and honestly the most reasonable option. But buying something already 10yo is definitely “I can barely afford a car”

And does that imply that the average owner bought the car at 10yo? No. The average car on the road could be 10y if everyone bought them at 0 and trashed them at 20 for instance.

It’s a really good car. Moreso in 2020 when I bought. Would never give it up. But I hope elons FSD drives him off a cliff.

As long as they are compatible. Lemmy for instance is not very compatible with mastadon and the like. I was under the impression that activitypub payloads were app specific, and everyone is just kinda coat tailing mastodon.

TikTok basically invented shorts. Maybe Snapchat. And everyone else’s sucks because their AI isn’t as good. It’s a toxic medium anyway. I with the Pixelfed creator would just focus on Pixelfed, I use that and it’s a total win, just needs some kinks worked out and more popularity.

Good point about the other funding methods.

I feel like it would be best to proxy YouTube, or subscribe to paid indie channels like nebula, but without a user base and without ad revenue or subscription revenue I don’t know how quality content can come to PeerTube. Maybe I’m just missing the content but when I’ve checked it’s all very low quality, just random unedited webcam vblogs mostly.

I put a stop loss of $265 on VTI for 25% of my portfolio. Then I hope to reinvest it in PHYS (gold) and VDC (consumer staples with some dividends).

I have a stop loss on the rest of my portfolio on its cost basis (about a 21% drop). If that happens I’d probably wait for the low via 50 day EMA crossing then buy QQQ or something high gain.

Just to be clear, this is NOT a Marxist, Anarchist, Liberal, or Conservative community. This is a WORKERS community, acting in workers self interest. All are welcome.

Purely political posts must be motivated by inspiring tech unionization.

Of course, hate politics will not be tolerated. Immigrants are workers. Women are workers. The disabled are workers. LGBT are workers. They are all your allies.

I believe AI is the road to a greater utopia. But that on the way it’s much more likely to create a dystopia of surveillance, unemployment, class struggle, etc. I believe that tech workers are the only people who can decide which route this technology takes, by saying no to employers who push for unethical practices or who fail to engage in AI safety. In order to do that, we need powerful unions, not just of AI workers but tech workers in general. Tech is such an impactful industry, it’s essential that workers regulate it rather than billionaires. We can see how tech has cozy’d up to the Trump administration. We all experience frequent mergers and layoffs. We all know everything we do is being logged by surveillance systems produced by the tech industry. And we all know that our high salaries and benefits will not last long if AI begins writing the majority of code. Push for human in the loop systems that protect our jobs, that move us into AI safety, and that give us a political say in our bosses greed.

Is there a github issue or discussion about implementing pods for lemmy?

With so many engineers on here I'm surprised it doesn't come up in search.
