Yeah it seems like HA OS is the way to go, running the separate Docker containers has been a headache and breaks/take time more than it's worth

Have HA running in a Docker container, wanted to set up the Sonoff Zigbee USB as a hub for smart devices in the house, can't figure out why this is so hard.

Ok so DSM 7 doesn't support USB, thats ok, managed to download the drivers and see the ttyUSB0 for the USB stick. But then when setting up the Mosquitto and Zigbee2MQTT containers the Z2M one crashes with the errors in the photo attached.

Is there something I'm missing or an easier way to do this for Synology NAS and HA running in a container? I guess I can VIM the HA OS but I just want to figure out the issue or find an easier way to set up a Zigbee network in the house that works

Thanks

For anyone trying to google a solution, I got it to work with the below in Portainer

version: '3.7'

services:

api:
    image: 'gthole/drink-stash:latest'
    init: true
    restart: 'always'
    environment:
      - SECRET_KEY=*enter-a-key-here*
      - ALLOWED_HOSTS=*enter-ip-here*
      - DJANGO_SUPERUSER_USERNAME=*can-be-whatever*
      - DJANGO_SUPERUSER_EMAIL=*duh*
      - DJANGO_SUPERUSER_PASSWORD=*make-it-up*
      - DJANGO_SUPERUSER_FIRST_NAME=*John*
      - DJANGO_SUPERUSER_LAST_NAME=*Smith*
      - INITIAL_FIXTURES=recipes
    ports:
      - 8081:8000
    volumes:
        - /volume1/docker/drink-stash/data:/data
        - /volume1/docker/drink-stash/public:/public

Drink Stash Set-up (hub.docker.com)

I would love to be able to spin up a container for this cocktail recipe thing I found on Docker Hub.

https://hub.docker.com/r/gthole/drink-stash

I am running a Synology DSM 7.2, I have Portainer and have enough knowledge to set up basic things with lots of guides like plex/pihole. But since this is such a niche app my lack of knowledge is hurting.

Anyone have guidance for setting this up for someone with my tools and experience?

Only one I missed was PushBullet, it was the easiest way to text from browser and get articles from phone/computer. Nothing I've tried on Firefox has worked as well

I'm glad you were able to recognize the quality of life imprisonment that work from home brought you and the impact it has on you and your family. With more and more ppl back in the office, WFH has shifted from a safety necessity to another 'perk' that companies can offer, like 401k matching or a 4/10 work schedule.

You are doing the right thing by standing your ground, you are indicating to them that they are in danger of losing talent if they do not continue to offer this competitive advantage to their employees, which should be a no-brainer with the work environment you described.

This should not preclude you from raises imo, and you are smart to be preparing your resume and looking for better opportunities. It is always smart to keep your options open. Good luck!

Especially with the reddit stuff going on, I found the commentary on self-regulation of behavior with respect to public opinion to be interesting

Daily? Because they get trapped in a situation that doesn't give them options. I live near the bus/light rail in my city, but the best job opportunity I got is 20 miles further out towards the exurbs. Its a 30 minute drive vs a 90 min bus/bike trip. Looking for something much nearer as the commute sucks, but when we build our cities like we do it really limits our citizens' options sometimes

This whole series is really fascinating - seeing a modern card counter from the beginning and what he has to deal with is a cool documentary
