I always feel like an alarm clock is more reliable than a phone alarm anyway. It also helps putting the alarm clock at the other side of the room so you have to get out of bed to turn it off. This causes your body to wake up faster so you don't go back to sleep.
As a non-USA person, the existence of a four-way stop has always baffled me. I think it is the peak of awful road design. I don't think you could make a worse intersection.

One thing that helps for google's captcha is to leave the browser tab alone for a while, while you go do something else, then later come back and click the checkmark field. It will then not open a captcha window but will just proceed.
I hope that the coalition will collapse fast but who knows..

How about ctrl+c to cancel and clear the command you are typing? It's much easier because you only need 1 hand, and does not impact your shell's history.
