Also, regardless of how bad the sites as a whole are, making the transition fully is just plain too difficult, there are communities that haven't moved and no matter if you are putting effort to have them here, you won't be able to get a question about a program answered if there are 3 active people on a community

I reread D-frag, its one of my comfort reads so I read it now and again from beginning to end.

I also read The Bully In-Charge up to chapter 69, its another korean delinquent work in a world where adults dont intervene no matter how bad things get and kids are so vicious they send each other to the hospital in a daily basis. The catch here being that some higher ups at the education foundation decided to hire a 20 year old ex delinquent to go to school as a 16 year old and beat the crap out of the bullies, so he gets to dominate them. I don't think it was trying to do comedy, but it ended up being hilarious in many situations I laughed out loud, it is pretty ridiculous at times. The fights were somewhat good, but near the end it is getting into the typical delinquent manwha territory where gangs and drugs get involved in every high school conflict and also some special bullshit ability is getting introduced, which kind of ruins the "somewhat plausible fiction" element of the fights into straight-up fantasy. (similar to what happens into kuroko no basket to give some reference)

Yes, this so much! VR minigolf is amazing, you barely need any space to play. The skill ceiling is jogh and the multiplayer is really enjoyable (you only see floating hands and it plays like normal minigolf)

The maps are colorful, the themes really interesting and also they look really special, like you are on an incredible theme parl of sorts, the inmersiveness of this game and gameplay are unmatched.

Haven't tried bonelabs myself but I heard the campaign was lacking so I just recommended boneworks instead since to me at least back when it released it felt like the most complete vr game.

Haven't tried the vr chat alternatives, I don't know if it is because I mostly visit Spanish talking communities but my experience has not really degraded. Admittedly I'm not a hardcore user who spends a lot of hours there, but I have fun whenever I hop in. I will try them zometime but since they are smaller they will probably have limited communities in my language, and speaking in english is a bit uncomfortable for me at least.

Lastly, I can vouch for the minecraft mod, if you set up a server correctly you can even play with friends that have it on desktop together, there are also movement commands that were fun instead of ussing the buttons on controllers.

I dont really regret having one of my first serious accounts on lemmy, at least I was part of the ride and the most annoying thing has been resubbing to small communities (now I have an extension to store my communities just in case)

No one really knows, there are some plausible theories of negligence but in reality it is most probable the owner just decided to pull off the plug dince not only the server went down but the donation links did too.

He didn't tell anyone and no one has been in contact with him

Like 3 days after the server went down there was a post on an investigation on what happened which made some discoveried and said they had some leads however there hasn't been a follow-up to my knowledge

Are you already playing it with mods? I think that boosts this game quite a lot, especially when talking about pouring hundreds of hours.

If I had to guess for a few I would say beehaw and lemm.ee will also still be alive in some way or another, but I dont think they will keep being as big in proportion to other instances as they are now.

I dont care about the points, but man finding what I was subbed has been a pain, and actively maintaining and subscribing in parallel to the same communities would be kind of tiring as a safe measure, I will probably just take screenshots of my subbed communities from now on

Im still on the process of searching for some of the subs I used to be subscribed to, luckily I could still search my account so I immediately subscribed to all the communities I had commented on, but those that I only read are still a mystery to me.

I take it as it doesnt mess with federation? So people that subscribed to communities there would remain subscribed? I had thought that the path changing would mess things up.

As for having accounts on multiple instances, its just not my style really, I like having a single instance to focus entirely (I interact with few communities so making multiple accounts is pointless) and I was on board with the idea of the admin of not defederating unless absolutely necessary, as I prefer to be the one blocking communities and instances rather than another person. As I said I liked the owner and now I will probably have to investigate for a few hours again to find another instance, I dont really care to change instances if one goes down, but I do like having only one or at max two accounts any single time, it is a bummer because I was having conversations on DM's and I dont remember the other person.
