And? It's been 4 years and a lot of factors have changed. If kamala didn't engage with those 20 mil who felt Biden made promises he didn't deliver and kamala has no plans to change anything then that could explain it. Blaming this purely on gender without any justification is just careless. Although I'm pretty sure the dems will see this as "women can't win" rather than "we're deeply out of touch and need real reform".

I think education is a factor here as well. People collectively seemed to have started just taking any sources word as objective truth with no rationalisation or justification. The fact we now have google forcing ai answers onto people that are factually wrong or unreliable and most just don't question it is emblematic of the problem. People lack critical thinking now.

I get the anger from dems against those who didn't vote but honestly that's more on the democratic party for not putting forward a candidate that earned those votes than anything else. Neither candidate is "entitled" to votes, just because the other candidate is abhorrent. I do think things will get considerably worse now and that'll hopefully teach those who didn't vote that yes that can happen and they should vote but the decision not to isn't on the electorate, it's the party that felt like they deserved votes they didn't earn.

Tbf, Democrats are centrist not left. It's just us politics collectively is so right leaning you folks don't have a real representative left leaning 3rd party. A real left party would institute policies to give everyone access to bread (so long as it isn't in short supply). It's absurd a country as big and rich as the US has such poor social support programs.

Like he did last time. We're basically expecting trump to be predictable which he 100% is. What wasn't predictable at least IMO is that he'd still not be in jail by the time the election happens.

I got a spontaneous case of allergies. I must be allergic to this movie /s.

This. Its like people have no sense of decorum anymore. There was a couple chit chatting through every other scene in a movie I watched a while back like they had the whole cinema to themselves. Super distracting.

This specific talk was about defining shared common interfaces so these different groups could work together and the guy who actually talked him into stepping down essentially said "I'm gonna keep writing C and if that breaks your rust stuff that's not my problem". This isn't about convincing the c devs to write rust it's about convincing them to work together when some of them seem to have made up their mind to sabotage rust support (either through indifference or willful interface regressions). Personally I'm more ashamed what this points to for someone new wanting to come in contribute to Linux.

Wow, what restraint. Now I definitely trust this guy who can't even trust himself with highly confidential information and the nuclear codes. /s.

Hi folks, first time poster so let me know if this kinda post belongs anywhere else. Just saw alien romulus and wanted to see others thoughts on the movie :-).

Personally the visuals were great and the xenomorph itself terrifying but I didn't care much for the story and the characters seemed a little 2dimensional. I also think it drifted a little away from the fear factor to shock. I'd say 6/10. Enjoyable watch but nothing special.

Hi folks,

I've been living in London for about 3 years now but didn't own much so never bothered to get contents insurance. As I'm steadily acrruing things I thought it'd be worth getting some sort of cover. I looked around on some price comparison sites and also reviews here and there. I'm getting anywhere from £60 to £500, although LV offering £250 is quite appealing and I've heard lots of good reviews. How much are you folks paying for contents insurance? What has your experience been with your providers and making claims? Any insight would be nice.

I don't think vote to obscurity can apply here. Trump will always have a platform because he is a living engagement machine and that drives the Internet mad. He wins he's the top story, he loses he's the top story, he gets convicted he's the top story. The man is immortal in the worst way possible and the world is basically f*cked.

Game preservation is dying because of DRM. You want games you can still play in 10 years, pirate that sht and donate to those keeping up the good art of game cracking. It's either that or buying remakes a decade later that are just thinly reskinned. I can live with sht like denuvo since newer games just remove it after a year and then I can buy it. Storefronts like uplay or egs that are dependent on a malignant profit only entity are at best mid-term rentals and at worst spyware you have to pay for the privilege to use.
