When you live in a shit 2 party system and the choice is between Trump and absolutely anything else - you vote to prevent Trump !!

I’m a European lefty, so I’m probably left of Bernie. Like him I’d have held my nose and voted blue.

That person and the author of the article obviously suck at reading/understanding graphs. Teen pregnancies did not have a high enough percentage (and it’s good that it went down).

Also, how do you miss the drop in the age range 20 - 24 and the rise in the age ranges above 30. It’s even indicated in the title to “40 is the new 20”.

This is indicative of a bad economy. I bet if you add a graph showing the rise in rent, you will see an inverse correlation.

I think this works better when the numbers are not equal:

There are a thousand reasons to move out of California but there are a million reasons to not go to Texas.

Sorry, you’re completely utterly wrong here. First, the Reichs:

  1. Reich: Holy Roman Empire (of the German Nation).
  2. Reich: (Unified) German Empire (1871-1918). → that’s the one they were referring to by wording, but not by implication.
  3. Reich: Nazi Germany (1933-1945). → context and implication should make it clear they mean this one.

The Weimar Republic took place between the second and the third Reich. It would’ve been a golden age of great prosperity if it weren’t for the Versailles contract and the Great Depression. It’s still had great economic achievements, which often get falsely attributed to Nazi Germany. You can be 100% sure that the Trump campaign doesn’t refer to this one. And please don’t conflate it with the 2nd Reich.

Even though the wording seems to indicate the 1871 German Reich the wording unified Reich and the use of the term Reich in English make this a Nazi Bullhorn.

Edit to add: In their ignorance the Trump campaign delivered a nice own goal: if they love the 2nd Reich of 1871 so much they should adopt a couple of their policies. Universal healthcare for example - introduced in 1883 by a conservative chancellor by the name of Bismarck.

A super precise and methodical dumbass makes a very good data/sample collector IMO. I’m glad it worked out well for your acquaintance.

Also I think nearly anybody can provide value / is valuable to society. If all of us were super geniuses society would collapse.

According to Wikipedia it was an actual fear that homosexuality is contagious. That belief is probably alive and well amongst idiots.

I always thought it to be more akin to hydrophobia instead of arachnophobia - as in fat reacting to water. Now I think that is to take as fat is neither attacking water nor is it insane.

That’s a different topic though! Don’t conflate collecting funds with usage/distribution of funds. We all need to accept that we have to pay (high) taxes. That the upper 10% haven’t paid their fair share in decades and that there is misuse has nothing to do with my tax rate. We need the upper 10% to pay way way more and we need better accountability for usage of the money. Pretty much regardless of where you live on this planet by the way.

I disagree with tax & rent being lumped together. I have no problem with my (high) tax rate as it supports education, infrastructure, etc. The outrageously inflated rent goes to the same guy that stole 95% of your pizza in the first place.

I love to hate on Americans (in a friendly way) as much as the next European, however American tourists aren’t that bad. This level of stupid assholery is 99% Chinese tourists, the missing 1% is Russians. No hate for Chinese, Russians, anyone that can behave themselves though- they probably hate their fellow citizens more that anyone of us ever could.
