If you look at the trans healthcare ban, for an example of how long lawsuits take. The executive order was signed on January 28th. 4 days after the executive order, Pflag's lawsuit filed their lawsuit in federal court. 5 days after the EO, they submitted the motion for a temporary restraining order. It wasn't until February 13th, a full 15 days since the filing of the EO that the judge ruled on the temporary restraining order blocking the EO from being in effect. There were a total of 15 days when that illegal order was enforceable before the courts went through the process of providing the quickest possible emergency remedy.

Even when going as fast as possible, and granting emergency relief, courts take long enough to cause real damage. 15 days to cause farmers these problems even if the spending freeze does eventually get blocked.

medication does work but only when administered. A pill or a shot does nothing until you take it, at which point its no longer external. Same can be said about nutrition.

Perhaps we shouldn't take life advice from screenshots of cowsay on the internet.

This article doesn't mention what the ruling was. This is a long article that has many quotes from many people directly or tangentially involved in this story, but the rather important detail of what the ruling that the judge ruled on is left out.

The judge granted the temporary restraining order. This is a preliminary ruling, the case is not yet over. To grant a temporary restraining order, they had to show a likelihood to succeed on the merits of the case, and to show irreparable harm if the order is not granted. The fact that the temporary restraining order was granted is a very good sign for the future of this case, but it is not over. The order lasts 14 days. It is almost assuredly going to renewed until the case reaches its conclusion.

If you are interested in reading the court documents of the case, the link is below. The courtlistener link included in the article doesn't show any documents filed after February 5th for some reason.

The problems are systemic and the humans in the system are incentivized to perpetuate the system.

Its not stupidity.

I'd much rather they make California the 13th province.

What specifically do you think that OSM maintainers should be doing to stop this instead of maintaining OSM?

Also coup has a p.
