Can you share the pattern? I've never done this, but would like to try and this is sweet!

Despite his appearance and delivery, i always thought Norm was the most "punk rock" comedian. He actually stood for something, stood by his friends and was true to himself. I did not always agree with his bits... But i never thought he was outright hateful. I think he tried to touch on the humorous or more absurd elements of society, with his commentary. Which was mostly the stuff i liked least... However, i believe that while Norm may not have understood some of these things, he wasn't intolerant of them.

Norm was about as big of an anti-celebrity, celebrity as i can think of. He always seemed eager to be silly and to laugh, and to love his small group of friends. I'm fairly cemented as being left of center, and i adored Norm.

Check out "project farm" on YouTube. He has an excellent channel and had vids for puncture repair kits, portable compressors and jump packs. He is great.

Thank God... Or the EU regulations... Whichever.

Its nuts that during the Obama admin, all anyone cared about was the threat of zero privacy. Now everyone in the US has surrendered to it, because our politicians have sold our digital privacy rights to the tech companies.

I actually do not hate this... however the idea of getting home to change out of this cracks me up. The image of trying to fold it or hang it could be an SNL skit.

I turned off cloud saves for it. It was murdering my patience when a friend would ask me to play another game while I was in a bg session. I cant figure out if it uploads ALL saves, or just the most recent. I quick save a ton, so i guess i could be to blame... But since im only playing on one pc, and not on my deck, i dont need the cloud save atm.

Conservatives everywhere are up in arms that THEY had to pay their loans, but the corpses dont have to. "nobody wants to work" they collectively mutter.

Hey guys, I know this isnt a question regarding HAM.. so I apologize for that... But I couldnt think of another community that I could ask, since my knowledge of radio comms is so limited.

We run a non profit gaming convention, and we were looking for an affordable comms option for contacting one another across a pretty large INDOOR area. We bought some radios that served us in a less enclosed space.. but we have moved venues, and the block structure and range seems to be impeding our ability to reliably communicate.

I wondered if anyone could recommend an affordable (I am almost positive there will be no cheap options. lol.. but I had to ask) option for a few handesets, that we could find repeaters, to strengthen the signal, so we could stay in contact... or a more powerful out of the box solution that wouldnt require repeaters.

Again, I 1) apologize for the non HAMmy question and 2) for my general lack of understanding of radio comms, harware and verbiage. To say I have a basic knowledge in this tech would be giving me too much credit. :) We all have cellphones, but we end up missing a lot of messages on them.. so we wanted a better option if there is one.

i realize this is sort of an oddball post, but thought I would put it out there to see if anyone has any advice... I posted a couple of weeks ago, requesting advice for a controller... after reading the many responses (thanks to the community!) I went with the cheapo $30 8bitdo wireless option. I finally got my dock for the deck yesterday and hooked it up. I played a little Chained Echo, then decided to try Super Metroid through emudeck. I got it working just fine... except for one big issue.. When you hit start to bring up the map... it brings it up like it should... but when you press start again to go back to the game, it doesnt recognize it. If I go out and check the controller, to make sure the start push is still mapable (to make certain it is still functioning) it recognizes it just fine.. but in the game, it only seems to work once.

Is there something I am overlooking with this? Do any of you guys out there have any advice?

Ill be getting mine later this week, and that screw issue is not what i wanted to hear.

I just bought the base version, and it should be here next week. I bought a 20 dollar docking station from AliExpress, a 54 dollar 512gb ssd from amazon, and an aftermarket antiglare/screen protector. I am still well under what I would have spent for the highest tier.

Ive been wanting a mobile gaming platform, and i could no longer deny the steamdeck. It beings the steamgames i would like to play from a couch and adds the options for emulators my pi couldnt handle. I also feel like the next gen will have a mich higher price point, as well as more options that would only range higher and higher... So i figured now is as good of a time as any.

I wondered if anyone had any experience with a controller that they used while docked? If the 20-30 8bitdo is as good as a one of the premium controllers, id prefer to save some money, since I don't own a console. If thought I'd ask the community, to see if anyone had any experience to share!

I think meta will dominate the space that federates with it. Hopefully none of my instances will do that... And I will be unaffected.

Retropie help (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 year ago by howler@lemmy.world to c/retropie@lemmy.world

Hey all, last week i was messing with my old rpi i had laying around. I had a couple of failed manual installs, before i realized there was just an image of retropie on the installer, and used it...

I messed around, installing some other things from the command line, that I read about on other dummy guides.

Well, i played a bit, and my saves for Metroid are borked... And the game has hotkeyed saves loads etc that are tied to reteoarch... I have a simple Buffalo SNES controller... So i dont have spare keys on it to rebind them to, and cannot completely unbind them even with a keyboard.

My question is, is retroarch part of the retropie install, or is it something i installed in the chaos of crap i did after my initial install? Can i uninstall it completely, or just reflash retropie? I have seen all of the losta regarding resetting the hotkey for the shortcuts... None of it seems to work, at least with this controller. Im supremely frustrated. I spent an hour or two assing with it last night... Configuring shortcuts from inside the game, without a rom loaded, and could not get any satisfaction.

Im pretty rudderless here, and obviously clueless about the inner workings of these things. So appreciate any advice.
