I now ask the Internet for an animated gif of him dancing by himself at McDonalds.

It is pretty easy to imagine separate streams of updates that affect each other negatively.

CrowdStrike does its own 0-day updates, Microsoft does its own 0-day updates. There is probably limited if any testing at that critical intersection.

If Microsoft 100% controlled the release stream, otoh, there'd be a much better chance to have caught it. The responsibility would probably lie with MS in such a case.

(edit: not saying that this is what happened, hence the conditionals)

If it weren't for those pesky kids^H^H^H^Hfarmers. Seriously, of course NATO has problems. It has dubious members, it has to deal with domestic politics, it has to fund itself, build out & maintain a military production base, it needs to be capable of fighting & responding just in case, and most of all it needs to be an effective deterrent. It will never be perfect, and hopefully it never needs to be.

I'm very glad to see security finally being taken seriously in Europe ... even if it has been slow to get moving. The coming decades and centuries are going to be rough (and would have been w/o russia's latest land-grab), and relying on the US security umbrella for european security is not ideal. They will likely remain an important partner though, douchebag presidents or not.

Excellent. Now I don't have to evacuate for category 5 hurricanes anymore. That will save me some stress.

It should be an easy decision at this point.

Support the EU's security agenda, or shoot himself in the face (politically). Ordinary hungarians won't appreciate the wrath of Brussels, which they have so far (mostly) been spared.

If my own life is anything to go by, it has far more go do with lifestyle changes associated with covid-times. More home office, less in person shopping (which was often done on the way to/from work), walking to/from lunch and $transport_of_choice.

If you are not actively choosing to walk, then you are probably just walking less.

I think there is value to exposing children to this (eg. an annual event), but regular cleaning is probably wasting time. Leaving rooms and the schoolyard tidy after use, OTOH, should be a constant.

Similarly, annual keep-your-town-tidy events (picking up garbage) are good.

Learning to appreciate the effort that goes into keeping your own environment clean & tidy, and taking pride in the result, is a valuable life skill.

Note: it sounds more like communal tidying in Japan... not terrible, just different.
