That's one way to get people to turn to piracy.
Nvidia... sounds familiar. Maybe I've heard of that name. I associate "Nvidia" with thoughts of expensive hardware, stock market bubbles, and annoying driver software. But that's just a statistical correlation, it's not like I actually know anything.
If I was shopping for speakers right now
I would buy speakers that are just speakers, which do not collect any data about me, do not rely on any computer networks, do not involve any monthly subscription fees, and do only the job of being speakers. I'd connect them to audio sources with cables, probably through a suitable mixer and/or amplifier. Not the platinum-plated $300 cables, either. It's not that complicated everyone, give it a try some day.
GNU Taler is not your enemy. It may not solve every problem you'd like it to, but its adoption by the masses would be a vast improvement in privacy compared to the current state of commerce in every country where it has the slightest chance of happening any time soon.
Maybe more people will join me in thinking that the best thing to do is to set browser.newtabpage.enabled=false and otherwise fiddle with the settings until it just shows you nothing but a blank page in a nice colour when you open a new tab or window.
Hmm. Maybe if I live long enough, my only slightly rusty skills in map reading and navigation by dead reckoning will once again be useful.
Ah, that brief window in time when it seemed somewhat reasonable to buy software from Sony.
Good for Mullvad. Long overdue, as they say. Wish I could still be a customer. Whoever induced them to turn off port forwarding did the world a disservice.
As the comment there says, the surprise is that not every instance is blocked yet.
But I've seen hardly any Chinese on the fediverse, so they probably don't care that much. And it's not just that I've stuck to the English-speaking parts, there's been lots of Japanese and various European languages. I suppose even if it otherwise would have a chance to catch on there, Chinese users know that if it did it quickly would get blocked.
Super-advanced java devs like me do it like try{} catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("something went wrong"); e.printStackTrace(); }
I wouldn't worry about it too much. The Facebook experience is degrading for all users.
They are presumably referring to SimpleX. Although I don't actually see anyone blaming it for the existence of Nazis.
