Shithole state. I'm SO glad my family is getting an opportunity to get the fuck out of here before Mike Braun fucks it even harder.

Trump voters won't care about any of that shit until it impacts them personally. My family is moving from Indiana to Maryland because of this election which is really going to obliterate grandparents' time around our kids. Sucks for them we refuse to stay in a state that would actively destroy our kids' education and wellbeing. They can shell out whatever massively inflated airfare it'll cost them to come visit us in a place we can actually feel safe.

At this point, it's just desserts. The US had it coming for even letting him run in the first place. That being said, Republican backwaters are going to get fucked way harder than metro populations. Poor boomers are going to get wiped out without social security, Medicaid, or kids that love them anymore. The south can enjoy the next hurricane without FEMA aid. Have fun watching your loved ones get deported because you thought this only impacted "illegals", assholes. I have my popcorn ready.

Fuck em.

Great job, dipshits. I hope this personally impacts each and every person that voted for him.

I've found that AI has done literally nothing to improve my life in any way and has really just caused endless frustrations. From the enshitification of journalism to ruining pretty much all tech support and customer service, what is the point of this shit?

I work on the Salesforce platform and now I have their dumbass account managers harassing my team to buy into their stupid AI customer service agents. Really, the only AI highlight that I have seen is the guy that made the tool to spam job applications to combat worthless AI job recruiters and HR tools.

That my dad cared about or respected me. After a family dinner, my wife asked me if he always talked about me like that and it just kind of clicked. Things like telling my kid, "If you play too many video games, they'll melt your brain like your dad" or "why would anyone pay you that much" when I told them that I broke a six figure salary. She made me realize that this wasn't normal and I didn't have to sit there and listen to it just because of who he is.

I haven't spoken to him or really any of my side of the family in almost two years now. Good riddance.

I migrated over to Lemmy a few weeks ago when the piece of shit Reddit app refused to load any posts but continued to load ads. I have found this community to be far more interactive, kind, and enjoyable to discuss pretty much anything with. I haven't found a reason to return to reddit at all.

That's not weird. That's how functional societies reconcile when they aren't subjected to endless propaganda and fear mongering.

After what seems like a year of near constant stress, disappointment, and loneliness, I decided to stop sitting at my computer all day and start making better choices for myself. This was a really hard thing to do for me since I work from home about two feet from my entertainment area. I would end up sitting at my desk all day and neglecting things that I wanted to do and I wasn't sure why.

This month I have:

Set up the Ender 3 V2 that was sitting in my closet for two years and printed out a bunch of cool shit with my kid.

Exercised every other day to try to help myself with some vicious joint pain that has developed recently.

Kept the dishes from piling up on my desk.

Made doctor and dentist appointments.

Don't get me wrong, things are still stressful and disappointing, but I feel a lot better than I have in a long time. What have you done to care for yourself lately? Digging yourself out of depression is hard and I want to hear your successes, no matter how small they are.
