Yeah I could care less about people saying they'd watch ads of they were less intrusive. I'm not, I don't give a fuck about YouTube's sustainability who happened to still have major growth while I ran an AdBlock this entire time.
Maybe I'd consider paying if YouTube was the actual product I was paying for. Instead I get privacy invasive spying and my data being harvested, while am paying to do so. The product I'd want to pay for would have zero privacy invasive stuff involved. Which that isn't going to exist, so I'm never going to pay.
They probably just wanted a powerful spec computer. That's what gamer laptops are for. They're actually not that expensive, probably just as expensive, or cheaper, then a Lenovo x1 carbon.
But also, literally who gives a fuck.
Or just copy Mastodon and do content warnings. They're a lot more versatile.
Just like Chrome will stop being anti-consumer when people stop using it. Or Blizzard will stop being terrible if people stop buying their games. People are not very good at this whole "voting with your wallet" thing.
This was overwhelming rejected by everyone, including Microsoft, Mozilla, Safari, and others. It's universally disliked, and Google knows this, but they intentionally know they're abusing their monopoly to push anti-consumer bullshit.

No idea why people consider them private over Firefox. Literally just install uBlock Origin on Firefox and you'll have a way better experience.
They are a middle man between my bank and the store in purchasing from, nothing more. They shouldn't stop anything unless it's theft.
