but if they don't walk the knife's edge of allowing fascism, how are the ultra-wealthy Democrats supposed to make line go up?

America's liberals have wanted gun control. go far enough left and you get your guns back.

i looked into revolt and pretty concerned with these two stances of the project

We don't think federation is beneficial to Revolt

ref

We have a variety of monetisation ideas lined up internally, with these, it is not my intention for us to paywall features and I find it unlikely we would ever do that considering it would contradict what we're trying to achieve.

ref

like, to me it seems they want to get communities invested and then later monetize in ways those communities don't yet know about?? idk that sounds extremely sus. especially when competing instances will fight against network effects with no federation.

curious about your setup, do you have anything for remote control? do you just run everything through the browser?

I was curious so I looked, Wikipedia says the asteroid belt currently contains only about 3% the mass of the moon. I definitely thought it would be more!

unions have transformed the workplace over their history and are probably the most promising antiwork mechanism that exists today. in the US, we have unions to thank for the following:

  • 8 hour work days
  • weekends
  • minumum wage
  • time and a half pay for overtime
  • limits on child labor (hazardous jobs, work during school hours, etc)
  • prevailing wage for public works projects
  • protection from employment discrimination based on gender, race, religion, age, disability, or origin
  • OSHA workplace protections
  • stable retirement via pensions (since gutted)
  • time off for birth or adoption, serious illness, etc (though, unfortunately it is not required to be paid time off)

i think we can all agree the victories of the past have dramatically changed the lives of every worker, but we can also agree that there is still so much more to change. Is what the UAW doing now the end? Obviously not, but they are at least moving in the right direction and that is how we will make progress if necessary.

it is when the richest people have already paid off the government to bail them out, when the time comes, with our tax dollars.
