Exactly. These clubs are not being put into schools by some outside corporation. They are made by students, with faculty support, like all clubs. The Satanic Temple provides support to these groups, because without an organization like them to back them up, clubs like this would all get shut down by bigoted principals and PTA groups.
I agree Reddit is toxic. I’d argue reddit actually stopped being Reddit around 2016. But it’s posts like this that clog it all up and are partially why it is the way it is today.
I gotta agree with this. The toxicity in any reddit thread increases dramatically when the poster pre-emptively complains about all the toxicity they expect to receive. Whereas when you just ask straight without going into a whole speech about comment quality, you get much better replies. Particularly because it's hijacking your own thread; changing it from whatever question you wanted to ask into an analysis of the comments.
Why shouldn’t I vote to nominate the Republican that I think would be the best to lead the country from those options?
I mean... you absolutely should! Not even just to "sabotage" Trump. That's just a good idea in general.
It's very much a global thing. It's happening all over the planet, in various EU countries, in South America, across Asia. Even Canada is seeing a sharp rise in right wing extremism. Trump-like politicians are being elected in many places, and extreme right parties are gaining seats in parliaments, and racist, sexist, intolerant civilians are becoming more and more vocal and violent in every corner of the world.
They would just go to Christian therapists, who would only add fuel to the fire and bolster these kinds of delusions.
The other commenter has it 100% right. You had to reject the female companion too, but you only complained about the male one. It wasn't a problem when you had to reject a girl coming after you, but when you had to reject a guy coming after you, you wished for some game mechanism to disable that kind of interaction. So yes, it's a form of subconscious homophobia. Look, I'm not calling you a bigot or anything like that, but I am calling you out on having some subconscious prejudice. We all have it somewhere or another. The key is that when you're called out on it you should recognize it and correct it, rather than get defensive about it.
If you're given the option to lessen the chance of the greatest evil happening by merely pushing a button, and you think "naah I'm not gunna," then you absolutely should feel shame. If your inaction supports the greater evil coming to power, absolutely shame on you.
Lol I haven't laughed so hard all day! Thank you, I needed that.
The GOP should consider
Nope, you lost me right there. That's never going to happen.
I was doing a battle with a metric fuckton of enemies, and I was screaming at the screen because I was so bored waiting to finally get a turn.
You've captured the real tabletop D&D experience!
Japan is massively overcrowded. This population decline is only a bad thing if you look at population in terms of capitalism: growth growth growth!
Houses here are tiny, people don't have yards, most places don't even have sidewalks. Parking is a huge issue, especially as more families own multiple cars. Newly constructed houses often have more parking space than floorspace.
Instead of trying to come up with newfangled ways to raise the population, what we should really be doing is preparing for a future with a smaller population. The population decline is not a permanent trend; it is a correction resulting from overpopulation.
I get where you're going with this, but I'm not following along.
Pointing out that there were protesters and explaining what they were doing there/why they were there is one thing. And that's important news. But this article went way way beyond that. They interviewed the protestors, put their names in the paper, and published their bigoted message along with it. They gave them fame and a platform, and helped them spout their hatred.
When there's a terrorist attack, responsible news agencies are careful to avoid giving unnecessary publicity to the terrorists, such as publishing their name and manifesto, and instead they focus on the victims. That's the attitude that should have been taken here. Mention the protestors, but don't platform them. Focus on the kids who are being harassed by these bigots, and show them in the positive light they deserve.
