WHAT? HOW DARE YOU INSULT OPENSTREETMAP, THE MOST USED DIGITAL MAP!

(In all seriousness, I wouldn't be surprised that OSM is actually used the most, especially because it creeps into many other maps. But of course, this usage is spread over many apps and not a single ~~advertising~~ map product, where GMaps is undoubtly the biggest one)

I used this one or a similar one a while back. Pure magic. It started downloading a ton of stuff, and half an hour later I was greated by a (slow) macOS, good enough to do some tests of my webapp on Safari.

These are mapped as regular shop, classified by what they sell; except that they get an extra attribute about zero-waste as m-p{3} pointed out.

That depends on local tagging preferences.

(For the non-canadians, it would help to have an image linked, e.g. on Mapillary or maybe Geovisio/Panoramax.)

Also: a warm welcome to the canadian Lemmy-community!

Even then, it should be resurveyed as the road closure might have ended sooner or might be delayed. It's the resurveying that is the tricky part.

No, they are really fused together. The idea is that you drink something while waiting for your laundry to be done.

Hmmm, maybe a general geo-community should be started then? I'd like to keep this one OSM-centric.

Well, best thing to counter that is to be the change you want to see. Start the community for the niche you miss the most/know the most about. Post something daily for two weeks + do a call for mods, and before you know you'll have at least some activity. I (helped) to bootstrap !openstreetmap@lemmy.ml this way, and the community has about 1 top level post per day on average now. Not a lot, but a good start.

Try OsmAnd or Organic Maps. The first one has many features but is less user friendly.

Google is supposed not to copy OSM...
