If Trump wins, pardoning these people will be his first order of business. That signals to his supporters that he wants them to do it again but in greater numbers to keep him in power indefinitely.

The difference is most liberals don't want dumb people to have guns. This person might be a liberal, but if other liberals had their way, the girl would still be alive.

If the pole is entering the portal at the rate of 60 miles per hour, it must exit the portal at the same rate. After a minute, 1 mile of pole has entered the portal, and 1 mile has exited it. If it exits more slowly than it enters, where is the missing part of the pole?

No, we wouldn't be, Mr. Negative Karma Throwaway. A recession is two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth. The US had exactly two in Q1 2022 and Q2 2022 before going back to positive growth. The US had a much larger recession in Q1 and Q2 2020 before a big recovery in Q3 2020. https://www.statista.com/statistics/188185/percent-change-from-preceding-period-in-real-gdp-in-the-us/

This is already about to pass in California. https://legiscan.com/CA/bill/SB478/2023

The FTC is going to write a rule similar to what local governments have given themselves power to regulate. The article gave some examples, but it is not exhaustive.

It isn't. It's planning to make ad blockers use a crippled API like the one Safari has had for years now, but the timeline for that still hasn't been decided. https://developer.chrome.com/docs/extensions/migrating/mv2-sunset/

I think we can agree that those slave owners were wrong, just as we can agree that Eich was and remains wrong about gay marriage.

It's not what he thinks of gay people. It's that he spent his money to successfully deny gay people rights and nullify marriages that were already recognized. That's not somebody I want to give money to. Look on Hacker News for his comments about why he made that donation, and you might change your mind about whether he is actually a bigot. He has never apologized for his actions.

Gates didn't lobby for tax cuts and austerity. https://fortune.com/2022/07/30/bill-gates-lobbied-joe-manchin-inflation-reduction-act-build-back-better-act-democrats/

Nor did Bezos: https://www.bbc.com/news/business-56657596

Austerity hurts Amazon's retail business, so the idea that Bezos would lobby for it is ludicrous.

Interesting that you bring up political and medical disinformation, which is something else Eich is known for: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/22/business/brave-brendan-eich-covid-19.html
