It was both, fellow worker.

We need a diversity of tactics. The literature describes a "radical flank effect" where the radical and moderate wings of social movements mutually benefit.

Twitter is not a free platform. It actively suppresses the voices of the left and protects the far right.

I do sincerely support free speech. I think it looks a lot more like the Fediverse than Twitter.

The expedition was not real. I was alluding to Lovecraft without naming him.

There were some geologists (field work by my reckoning) from Massachusetts who went mad after an expedition to the Antarctic. The survivors came back mumbling something about a horrible thing from beyond the mountains.

Under Trinitarianism, God would be a they/them, because they're literally several people.

According to the common understanding of the doctrine of virgin birth, Mary got impregnated through the Holy Spirit rather than The Father rawdogging her. This suggests that the Holy Spirit is a dick and thus probably male.

The Father is, according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, not a man or a woman. That being said, neither Hebrew nor Aramaic nor Koine Greek have gender-neutral pronouns (except perhaps calling The Father "it" in Koine Greek, which would be hilarious but sadly would not be approved of by a killjoy like Paul).

A friend and I were recently discussing how spineless modern boycotts are.

We set a goddamn deadline for when the Reddit boycott ended. No wonder Spez just waited. Most people then just continued using the website. What a disgrace.

Imagine if after one week of the genocide in Gaza, the BDS efforts just stopped. A boycott must be indefinite. It should go on until demands are met.

We anarchists are generally averse to cooperating with the police, for very good reasons. However, as I understand it, at times the only real way to protect the community in the society we currently live in seems to be talking with the pigs.

Suppose you believe yourself to have evidence incriminating a serial killer. In an anarchistic society the serial killer could be sent to the psych ward and dealt with humanely. But what about the modern day? Do you turn over the evidence to the police?

This question has been bothering me for about 3 days now. It was provoked by learning about Aufhebengate. It made me wonder under what circumstances snitching is justifiable.

There's a difference between hating Russians and hating Russia. Please don't hate me. I'm just a guy, like you.

The current usage refers to people who back dictatorships that call themselves socialist.

Historically, the definition was slightly tighter. A few years after the death of Stalin, the USSR brutally crushed a revolt in Hungary with tanks. The UK's communist party was okay with this. This led to a lot of people leaving the party and calling the people who remained "tankies".

Over time, the term became more broad. A lot of the original users of the term supported Stalin, and would be considered tankies themselves by the modern definition.

It is also sometimes misused. Some people think that dictatorships are the only form that socialism can take. As a consequence, these people call all socialists tankies, including anarchists and demsocs.

I hope he has some sort of contingency plan. Perhaps he can find a successor.
