Not making a point here, I just like numbers:

China has a population of ~1.4 billion

China has 698 billionares

China has the one billionare for every 2,005,730 people.

United States has a population of ~340 million

United States has 724 billionaires

US has one billionaire for every 469,613 people.

Edit: I like numbers. I don’t like Reddit/Lemmy formatting.

Really annoying that the company shat on him for years, and continued to do so after he multiplied the value of the company. Toxic behavior.

Alright you’ve been on a roll lately Swifty, but imma call you out; transponders are public information.

LLMs are essentially confident-sounding lying machines with a penchant to occasionally disclose private data or plagiarise existing work. While they do this, they also use vast amounts of energy

PDF Piracy (lemmy.world)

I am officially an old person, as I have subscribed to a magazine. It’s niche, but it’s been around a long time, and having enjoyed a lot of issues in my childhood that were given to me for free, I feel I should give back.

I’m wondering if there are precautions I should take. Can any sort of copy protection be put into PDFs that I should strip out? If I share them as a torrent, should I be worried that the publisher can tell where they came from?

Look at the top. The account already has Premium, and Google are still advertising.

Me: “Hey, family, please stop watching Fox News, it’s literal propaganda”

and a finger curled on the monkey’s hand

Them: “oh, that’s why it’s woke now. I’ll watch Newsmax, then”

Frankly I’m trying to figure out how a system that even allows for luggage to be lost without any accountability is allowed to exist in two thousand twenty fucking three

Resiliency is the strongpoint.

If Reddit shuts down, all of Reddit dies.

Same with Facebook, YouTube, etc. is that highly unlikely? Well, yeah, but still nonzero. The fediverse offers resiliency in this regard, and no one person has the ability to shut it down. Even if all instances decide to shut down, new instances can still be spun up.
