“To think we should be shipping around this gas as a climate solution is just plain wrong,” report author Robert Howarth, an environmental scientist, told the Guardian. “It’s greenwashing from oil and gas companies that has severely underestimated the emissions from this type of energy.”

It’s time to leave all fossil fuels in the ground — including gas!

Since it launched a notification system in 2022, IMEO has told companies and governments about more than 1,100 giant methane clouds escaping from oil and gas facilities. Yet the number of releases that it's verified have been halted "can be counted on two hands, maybe one," Caltagirone said.

The 12 members of the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative, which includes Saudi Arabia's Aramco, Exxon Mobil Corp. and China National Petroleum Corp., say they've halved emissions of the gas since 2017.

Yet methane emissions from the fossil fuel industry, including coal mining, remain close to a record level set in 2019 as supply continues to expand, according to International Energy Agency data.

Methane emissions from 13 of the world's major fossil fuel producing regions have risen 7% from 2020 to 2023, according to Kayrros SA, a satellite-data analysis company.

A network of accounts on X using stolen and possibly AI-generated images coordinated to engage with accounts supportive of Israel

This discovery follows previous research by the DFRLab and other investigators which exposed a similar network of inauthentic pro-Israel accounts which became active on Facebook, Instagram, and X after the beginning of the war in Gaza.

I would argue that Zionists started killing children in 1947.

The IDF targets hospitals because they WANT to target hospitals.

They even gave a name to it:

Explainer: The Dahiya Doctrine & Israel’s Use of Disproportionate Force

The Dahiya Doctrine is an Israeli military doctrine that calls for the use of massive, disproportionate force and the deliberate targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure.

Great article, I didn't know about this effort. I have to admit, at first it did not make any sense to me, since it took me almost half the article before remembering that gas in the US, is what is called petrol in other english speaking places, and is definitely not related to natural gas.

It's one thing not to like illegal protests and a different one to equate them with anarchy. I understand that the term "anarchy" is often used as a synonym to "lawlessness" but in reality it is a movement that aims to eradicate societal hierarchies and replace them with horizontal organizational structures.

Also as I'm sure you know, law is not set in stone, it does change. Many things that are legal now, were illegal in the past. Sometimes in order to influence lawmakers we need to do illegal stuff, like non-violent disruptive protests.

Armenians know what genocide means.

So it looks that the State of Palestine is recognized as a sovereign state by 147 of the 193 member states of the United Nations. Hope I'm counting correctly and didn't leave out a country, cause it looks like the relevant wiki page [International recognition of the State of Palestine] has not yet been updated. Not even for Ireland's recognition of Palestine and that happened last month. Soon I hope.

For me the question remains. What could make the remaining white colonialists and Zionist settler colonialists change their minds and finally recognize Palestine, so that a 2-state solution is implemented.

For Phase 2 it would be appropriate to include recognizing Palestine like most countries and removing the Israeli military fence. Among other things, of course.

The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention:

SUPPORTS STUDENT DEMONSTRATORS IN THE USA AND AROUND THE WORLD. GENOCIDE PREVENTION CANNOT EXIST WITHOUT FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND ASSEMBLY.

Their statement, released on 29 April 2024 can be found here (5 pages)

Btw Raphael Lemkin is The Unsung Hero Who Coined the Term "Genocide"

It was he who coined the word “genocide.” He was also its victim. Forty-nine members of Lemkin’s family, including his mother and father, were rounded up in eastern Poland and gassed in Treblinka in 1943.

I just want to say that the most disturbing part of this is not that she did this. It’s that this is the message and image that she has carefully decided will help her achieve her career and personal goals.

I just want to say that the most disturbing part of this is supporting Genocide. The reasons why any individual would support a Genocide don't really matter, it's not a justifiable position anyways. But the act of supporting it, totally does matter and that's the problem.

CNN claiming this as an exclusive is madness

That's an excellent point you're making

If you take a look at the map in the wiki page about the International recognition of the State of Palestine you will notice that most of the countries that have not recognised Palestine have been colonisers. Having them change their position is a necessary thing that needs to be done to for peace in the region.

As of May 2024, the State of Palestine is recognized as a sovereign state by 143 of the 193 member states of the United Nations.

Just looking forward to the next country that will recognise Palestine.
