While not necessarily canonical, the scene in the movie "W" where Cheney presents his plan for the Iraq War as a domino fall to lead to further expanded dominance in the Middle East, with his prognostication that "nobody will fuck with us then." The notion that Americanism is the world's savior, thus, we must provide Americanism to the world, by trade/legal/military force as necessary.
If there's a competitive party in the Knesset that is actively against bombing Gaza, sure.
But literally the leader of the opposition in the Knesset is *fully in support* of the IDF's actions so far.
As it stands, Likud has had a strong grip on the Knesset for a long time, despite not really having a mandate of popular support.
Even when opposition parties have won a plurality, war hawks like Netanyahu and Sharon have still been able to build Likud-run coalitions.
Eh. It didn't really start going to shit until 2001. Things stayed pretty darn good after 92. Not a lot of decades with that track record.
I mean, in the 90s we bitched about mostly distant global things because things were pretty good in general for most. And we had time to worry about less-catastrophic domestic things like Mumia or Peltier or what have you.
Now things aren't so good and we end up bitching about far more local things because things around us are so bad.
