Disco Elysium shattered me half a dozen times. Two moments in particular made me step away from my desk and go on a walk. It's the best-written game I've ever played.

Firewatch. Gorgeous, emotionally honest game that wrings you out.

Inside. More of a stressful, cathartic cry, but it applies.

Mass Effect 3 - but only if you play the first two. Incredible story that beats you over the head with yearning .

Hey - I'm currently doing a super long encode of the cut to be more torrent-friendly, BUT: I just uploaded a more compressed and still great-looking version of the cut to MEGA, it's under 5gb and should be easily downloadable. If it's not, I'll update you when the torrent encode is done.

[-] tymon@lemm.ee 3 points 1 year ago

I'll look into that, I've never made a torrent before! Thanks for the tip

God, this is a welcome thing.

Thanks so much!

The 1080p version is downloadable via the MEGA link above - if you can't download it from MEGA natively, try using jdownloader (linked in description)

My up-to-date film directing reel. I'm working on three more films currently and am very happy that I get to do that.

Reddit was my first stop to find new music. Lemmy can easily do the same. Drop your favorite hidden tracks here - don’t keep those secrets!

I've been making custom proxies for a while, and these are some of my favorites. Opponents' reactions are always either utterly confused or hilariously distracted.

In your opinion, which moment sticks out as the absolute lowest point of the series? The absolute nadir of quality? Be as specific as you like - can be a moment from a game, or a whole game in its entirety if you can't pick.

Also, what about the opposite - the highest point? A moment so good that you felt FE had reached a new peak of excellence?

For me, the lowest point has to be the dynamic between the Nohrian family in Conquest. The moment-to-moment writing is atrocious, but I doubt even John Updike could have saved the overall arc of the story itself, regardless of the specific lines of dialogue.

Another contender is the entirety of Fire Emblem Heroes. I can't even begin to describe how much that gacha dogshit bothers me, and the influence it has had on the direction of the series as a whole is extremely depressing.

The highest point for me (so far) is when Alm and Celica's routes merge in Valentia. I don't know what it is about that game, but it's far and away my favorite so far.

Lots of game-specific communities have been popping up lately; surprisingly, there isn't an active ES-specific one, so I fixed that.

If you had told 23-year-old me that the brand new copy of Skyrim I was holding would be the last mainline Elder Scrolls game I'd play until I was in my 40s, I would have kicked you out of my house.

There's always Blades, I guess...

Last fall I moved into an apartment with a plum tree in the front yard. I don't know anything about plants or trees or fruit, and now that summer is here there are hundreds of plums dangling off this tree. They're attracting millions of ants, as well as raccoons, possums, rats, and a few bold humans who I've caught plucking from the tree.

I guess I like plums? But there's around a week left until they all fall to the ground and become a horrifying slurry, and I'd rather avoid that.

Any suggestions?

TLDR: Have plum tree, it's bursting with plums, no idea what to do in order to avoid ant apocalypse

Trying to constantly remind myself that none of us are immune to propaganda, and that it would be really easy for this scenario to be misrepresented as a clean-sweep against the Russian military. Wagner's def gonna cause serious problems but I'd frankly be shocked if this ended with a successful coup or any meaningful change

For example, this comment links to another community on another instance, but when clicked on, you're not actually able to interact with anything on that community, because you're suddenly not logged in.

It's doesn't function like linking to a subreddit, and I understand that that's because of federation, but is there a better way of doing this? It seems... very stupid that linking to a page would suddenly "log you out" for all intents and purposes, while searching that same community wouldn't.

Does this make sense?
