In was thinking about TLF with servo in mind, though I wasn't aware much progress has been made. Great to hear!
I've daydreamed about the Linux foundation or sovereign tech ~~fund~~ agency taking ownership of Firefox away from Mozilla.
Maybe they could maintain a fork of it instead, I'm not sure. At this point I think it's become a necessary measure. Firefox is quite far back in terms of security features that it's actually becoming kind of silly. I still use it, carefully. I feel less inclined to recommend it to less savvy users in its current state.
The use of language in Reach is masterful. Even with one liners like 'DOT, check your vector', or mutterings like 'armour configuration matched' - 'shield strength too' add so much believability to the world.
I wanna go play reach now.
I feel attacked.
Commander, you don't have the firepower!
I've got the mass.
Solid copy. Hit 'em hard, boss.
You're on your own, Noble.
Gardening is great - keep at it. I may ask you for help & advice with mine to help take your mind off things.
I won't sugarcoat the fact that things will suck a little if he wins, but we'll prevail and our plants will grow strong and healthy.
Halo Reach was such an excellent send off. What a powerful soundtrack.
Correct. All apex ever did was ride on the coattails of a once great IP

Why build a new browser in C++ when safer and more modern languages are available? Ladybird started as a component of the SerenityOS hobby project, which only allows C++. The choice of language was not so much a technical decision, but more one of personal convenience. Andreas was most comfortable with C++ when creating SerenityOS, and now we have almost half a million lines of modern C++ to maintain.
However, now that Ladybird has forked and become its own independent project, all constraints previously imposed by SerenityOS are no longer in effect. We are actively evaluating a number of alternatives and will be adding a mature successor language to the project in the near future. This process is already quite far along, and prototypes exist in multiple languages.
Not to my knowledge but there are dedicated wrapper projects if you'd rather not use a full chromium based browser
