I do the same, but I just pull about 5-10 feet past the pump so it's not even in my line of site.

Yeah, I'm a pretty cheap person, but I don't go to a bar to save money, I go to relax and socialize.

I was looking for some eyebleach earlier and was disappointed to see how quiet all of the eyebleach communities are.

Most of my life is pretty busy. When I have a moment where I have nothing to do, I try to enjoy it instead of wishing it away.

Having the time to do nothing is underappreciated.

Read the book Sapiens.

Being able to believe in fiction is what allows humanity to function.

I'd never heard of the monkey banana ladder experiment before. At the end of the article it said that that experiment has never actually been done. When searching further, it seems like this is an often cited hypothetical experiment. I found mention of a similar study that actually happened that allegedly had different results but the details seem to be behind a paywall.

I've not seen the wire, but now I'm afraid if I do it will make me sad.

I realized the dangers involved. That is why I never became a police officer myself.

... actually the reason is because I was too old by the time I had the idea to try, but realistically I had talked myself out of it before I knew that.

I have had the thought before that the police problem could be improved if decent human beings joined the force and tried to change it from the inside out. I think it could make a difference but I don't think many people consider it because it feels like joining the wrong team.

Make sure you also test it while drunk or heavily drugged up.

I know my comment was low effort. I appreciate the supportive response anyway, even if it wasn't that well deserved.

Thank you.

I started a job where I don't have any access to a kitchen to warm up food. On a whim, I bought an insulated thermos to bring hot food in. I tried it for the first time yesterday, and I have to say it was so pleasant to have have an instantly ready hot meal when I stopped to have lunch.

I was never big on photographing my food but I found this one particularly pretty. It was over a decade ago, and I don't remember what restaurant it was. Somewhere in NYC.

I just noticed the cucumbers I bought say "wash before using" not "wash before eating" and I want to believe it is a subtle joke deliberately made by the person who designed the packaging.

I found it amusing and I wanted to share it.

I find most foods are best as soon as they are made, but some things seem to get better when the flavors have more time to meld. The only two I can think of right now are chili and hummus. What other dishes am I forgetting, or haven't tried that you think get better with a little time?

I want to replace one half of this with longer wire, but I am not confident about the name of the connector used.
