Im a professional ecologist. I have to listen to one of my colleagues rant about this topic on a nearly weekly basis, because its the focus of her grant work.

There are multiple groups of actual researchers in nearly every institute of biological study on the planet dedicated to spreading local awareness about wild cats.

There are multiple websites entirely dedicated to trying to inform people that the small apex predator from a far off desert doesnt actually belong wandering the wilds of your neighborhood.

There are a few actual native species of wild felines currently threatened due to feral domestic cats, that are having trouble becoming stable again because of folk like you.

The kind of person who doesnt really grok that owned cats are where feral cats come from, because your cat is fucking left and right in the bushes.

The kind of person who thinks their cat can win a fight with a car, or coyote, or wolf, or fox, or badger, or weasel, or any other predator in the wild that youre gleefully feeding it to.

The kind of person who is to blame for multiple feline diseases spreading and festering in local populations because you let your cat go pick them up from the source and spread them about willy nilly.

The kind of person who failed to pay attention in grade school science.

But please. Go on, tell me how the majority of science is a pop article about cat litter, flunkie.

That we allow religion to hold such massive sway is such a point of shame for our species, and out countries.

Its not actually good, and many actually good art programs far outshine it.

So its lost what made it unique, by being comedically bad, and become the death knell of most things in a capital focused system; mundane.

thats like asking for someones fan fiction to be published under the original authors name so you can read it in the same folder on your kindle.

Its not gonna happen, for about 10 different reasons.

A lot of these games are working off of an assumed learned collective memory.

Think of movies, and their tropes. How do you understand that when a movie cuts to black for a second, and then suddenly shows a new location, that we did not just teleport? That the black cut indicates the end of a scene, and the start of a new one?

Think of how many games assume you know which button pauses, which opens the menu, which buttons move the character and which ones make you jump. Now, add another layer of controls. And another.

BG3 is also working with an assumed collective memory from DnD. Assuming you already learned about class vs race, and cantrips vs lvl spells, and turn order, etc.

It sucks when you miss large games that establish these things, but its also how art forms evolve. Games just dont yet have a way to easily re-teach them.

Its funny how this headline keeps coming up every couple of weeks with a smaller number each time.

I dont know how they generate these evaluations, and honestly I dont even trust they are accurate. Or care, my life is fully uneffected by the success or failure of that site.

But it is always funny to read the new nearly identical headline with the number shifted down by 1-4 billion from last time.

The reason you often cannot find smaller wikis is because this site killed them off.

Because when you get over/get used to the bitterness, theres a lot of flavor in coffee. You just need your senses to either acclimate to it, or you need to get older. As you age, you lose sensitivity in some taste receptors which makes formerly overpowering flavors less offensive.

Same thing for tea, and cheese, and most things kids hate but adults love. Thats why youre supposed to try things again every 5-10 years.

If you can fix it post-launch, you should probably launch it post-launch too.

Seriously sick of the bugged out release trend. Just finish the game
