Right - I wasn't suggesting that it would fix the notification issue, just that it might give the previous commenter the Android environment they're looking for.

They're certainly losing interest in maintaining core Android, which is closer to what I meant. Everything you've described is within their Play Services environment.

Some of what you've said is incorrect as well - I have a third party gallery that works just fine on my stock Pixel 8 Pro. Its access is just managed by a separate permission.

They still haven't fixed the task switch button from the three button layout becoming non-functional after four years: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/204650736

It's a byproduct of the home and task switch button now being managed by the Pixel Launcher regardless of which launcher you use. The animation delay makes it so the button becomes inactive and won't be made active again until the Pixel Launcher is killed or the phone restarted.

From my perspective, Google is losing interest in maintaining Android at all.

Whether a jury feels a charge is fair is the whole reason trial by a jury of peers exists.

It's a feature of the system, not a bug.

I was using .local, but it ran into too many conflicts with an mDNS service I host and vice versa. I switched to .lan, but I'm certainly not going to switch to .internal unless another conflict surfaces.

I've also developed a host-monitoring solution that uses mDNS, so I'm not about to break my own software. 😅

Now the question is - are they open sourcing the original Winamp, or the awful replacement?

At some point, you lose productivity and reduced work weeks have shown increases in productivity can happen.

The Nuzu repository is already wiped.

With UI decisions like the shortcut bar, they really don't. I switched to another SMS app because I couldn't stand it.

It's not built in, but I generally recommend Solid Explorer for that functionality: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer2&hl=en_US&gl=US

I've had an issue while using Rider IDE on Ubuntu 20.04.

Every time I debug a project and then stop debugging, Rider crashes immediately without an error message.

I did find that if I start Rider from a terminal or using the Jetbrains Toolbox that it does not crash afterward when I stop debugging. I'm not sure, but I'm assuming this is because Rider has a parent process in that case.

Has anyone run into this issue? It's been driving me crazy since I usually launch Rider via the application menu or similar means.

I love this feature and use it all the time! Are there any apps I can replace this with?
