I think that ship might've sailed at this point. The west is going into an economic decline, and Africa is developing rapidly. I don't think there will ever be such a disparity in power between the west and Africa that would allow the west to recolonize going forward.
I'm guessing between Israel and Ukraine, US is starting to have to cut losses.
lol I loved that bit, like wtf does that even mean, Chinese are not using organically grown free markets to produce their goods 😂
I think it's desperation, US is realizing China is pulling ahead and they're basically trying to convince China to sabotage their economy the way they did with Japan in the 80s.
Notably, US embassy made a statement that extremists have imminent plans to target large gatherings in Moscow, to include concerts, and US citizens should be advised to avoid large gatherings over the next 48 hours a couple of weeks ago.

That's where China comes into the picture.
Even that narrative is fundamentally flawed because Japan's stagnation in the 80s was a direct result of US imposing Plaza Accords on Japan. There is no opportunity for US to do the same with China.
Same reason people keep referring to DPRK as North Korea, it's a result of decades of western propaganda. DPRK along with Cuba have been hands down the biggest targets of US propaganda because they remain as the closest analogs of USSR today. They utterly reject capitalism and don't even make an attempt to make any concessions to the west.
happy seething and coping
This might be the first time we're witnessing western propaganda unravel in real time. It used to be that they'd feed people a bunch of bullshit, everybody would internalize it, and then years later, when it no longer mattered, we'd get the revelations. Now, we're seeing the narrative come apart within months of being published.
pretty much yeah, I gotta say the meltdowns when hexbear joins in are absolutely hilarious to watch
I don't think it's strange at all to be honest. A lot of people who lived in USSR are still alive today, they got to see both systems first hand. It's simply not possible to do the same kind of propaganda against communism in Russia as in the west. People talk to their parents, their grand parents, many younger people have lived through the clusterfuck of the 90s. People know that communism wasn't bad from personal experience, and that's not possible to erase.
Most people in Russia understand that capitalism is exploitative, and that the oligarchs don't have their best interests at heart. At the same time, they realize now that the west wants to break Russia, and hence why there is strong support for the government. But Russians are not delusional about capitalism the way a lot of people in the west are.
Another huge factor now is the increasing integration with China. People can see how things developed there, and it's not hard to figure out that USSR could've followed a similar path if different decisions were made.
Meanwhile, my read on the ruling class is that they like to highlight the strong image of Stalin while playing down his communism. This is a way to play lip service to the Soviet past while trying to dilute the ideology.
