Stepping into a true starter role for the first time in the league at age 28, Dominik Hasek entered the limelight in 1993, a time in which Patrick Roy was cementing himself as an NHL great and Martin Brodeur was already the next up-and-coming star goalie. Hasek wasn’t supposed to be in the starter’s net — a Grant Fuhr injury forced him into the position — but the Sabres’ goaltender forced his way into a permanent slot being the workhorse.

Just wondering. What are you favourite Hockey YouTube channels?

I've been watching The Hockey Guy for a few years now, and Bardown puts out some good content, but aside from that the space seems to be oddly vacant.

Hey there, me and my girlfriend have been getting into the NHL recently and wanted to read up on some of the essential hockey 'lore', if you will!

Since we're based in the UK we picked a team that we have a good connection with and that ended up being Vegas as we've been a few times and love it. We started supporting pre Stanley Cup, so pretty good timing! 😂

If anyone has any suggestions, that'd be amazing!

Edit: We watched the Quest For The Stanley Cup series too, which was amazing! Really enjoyed that.

If you're like me and try to not use googles invasive apps then you know what it's like to be missing the team schedules in your calendar app. This guy takes the time to make the schedules into import-able files like CSV, XLSX, ICS, and JSON. I've found it a pretty handy replacement for google calendars team schedule import thing

ps - I'm not affiliated with this site. I just found it randomly a couple years back trying to find a solution

Good morning hockey fans! It's still a good bit before pre-season, but I've been working on a bot for the flyers community and would like some feedback on what everyone would find useful. Based on tests it should be ready to go once pre-season rolls around. It pull stats/standings /live scores at the moment. If there's other features (or more information you would like to see on the existing ones), please let me know so I can make sure to have it finished before the start of the season!

I'd also love feedback from any community mods that want to use the bot for any way to make it easier for you to do so! Right now it can be installed through python's pip command or through docker

Rapid fire day? Complete disappointment and boring? Who knows! Lets see what happens.

God-speed to you and your teams in hopes that your GM doesn’t lucid dream through the day.

212th pick in the 2023 NHL Draft Zaccharya Wisdom and his older brother, Zayde (a prospect on the Reading Royals [ECHL] of the Philadelphia Flyers farm system), are determined to make something of their careers to pay back their mother for sacrifices she made for them.

Well I'm a bit late on the draw on this, but link above is a runnable python script for the draft that autoupdates once per minute. Will need to install plemmy extension (pip install plemmy). It will prompt for your server, community name, username/password then get to work posting a post titled "2023 draft" and updating it once per minute.

**It does not know how to tell when the draft is over, you will need to stop it manually (ctr+c on linux/unix). **

Been working on this as the draft was happening, I'll be hoping to get that figured out soon.
