Comparing Wild Robot to Iron Giant is a bit of a stretch. 2 completely different themes. I get the theme of โ€˜robot finding itโ€™s reason for existenceโ€™ but itโ€™s a theme of overall โ€˜who am Iโ€™ (Iron Giant) vs โ€˜how do I raise this child/animalโ€™ (Wild Robot). I honestly believe a lot of themes in Wild Robot arenโ€™t properly grasped unless youโ€™ve had a kid or raised one. That movie cuts to the core quite a bit around being a parent and always questioning if youโ€™re doing enough and what will be best to provide the best future for your child. Also around how to be supportive even when your child is facing difficulties like bullying. Iron Giant is more of a โ€˜funโ€™ movie about if a giant robot was found by a child and the innocence of youth vs hardened hearts of adults. Just not a good comparison.
