GRS Montréal does nothing to keep that monopoly they're simply the only provider for that type of care in the province and the province doesn't care enough about us to invest in a public solution. We're a niche population with niche needs and so they believe it's fine to handle us this way.

Was I treated well at GRS? Yeah. Did I wish I had options for such a life changing surgery? Absolutely. I would have chosen another type of surgery if it was available.

But in the end, to me, the main issue with trans care in Quebec is more about the blind spots in the coverage than the monopoly of GRS Mtl...
