If in 4 years, Matthews cant win the cup with the Leafs, would a GM pay him another most expensive long term contract then? That will be a lot of cap hit for someone cant win the cup with very good players while in his prime. He is really betting on himself bring the cup to toronto.
I'm not sure. The Leafs are really going to have to score their way out of games this year. Ilya Samsonov is not a good goaltender.

Exactly my point. They're going to play probably 60 games this year that are straight out of the 1980s in terms of scoring.
