its funny how these are never considered british foods, even when british people talk about british food

The best of UK food is to be found in minority cooking.

Because that's not British food? That's food that was brought over from colonized peoples? That's like going to a truly authentic Japanese restaurant in Brazil and saying, "That was the best Brazilian food I've ever had".

Also that second one looks... interesting. Its nice to know that seasoning is still a mystery to the British isles.

It is british indian food, they dont eat that type of food in india its a special type of curry mixed with tomato. Indian-british food is like tex-mex, its unqiue. Also not colonized people but indian immigrants, its not like going to a japanese restauraunt, its like going to a tex-mex restuaraunt and going 'thats the best tex-mex food ive ever had'

Makes sense!

Though I will say for the point in the middle. Why did those people immigrate? And why to the UK in particular and in such large numbers? I feel like we both know the answer to that is colonization.

Though I do hope it’s good. After seeing British “Chinese food” I don’t have high hopes at all, and the lack of seasoning is frightening in that second image, but I feel like it could definitely be good! Especially going off of that first picture.

It helps if you slam down 8 pints first, a lot of british food makes sense in this context.

Pretty much, I knew a Hong Kong asian family who emigrated because they made so much money in HK paying workers 1 dollar an hour they where able to buy a mansion in the UK. Its colonialism but often its the upper-middle class of the respective countries running these buisnesses, abliet a tiny minority ever manage too.
