I mean, everyone knows? Like, everyone knows. Everyone has known for at least a decade. I will never understand why he just doesn't come out, it's not like the Rs don't have the occasional "good" queer they tolerate for the optics, it's just mystifying.

Those "good gays" are always kept on the fringes where they can be ignored or disposed of when convenient. They aren't supposed to have real power.

But that's what he's doing. He's being a "good" queer, which means he's publicly denying it. That's the kind of homosexual they tolerate: the one who's ashamed of it.

The 'good' ones are still expected to have a fixed partner and be monogamous, which is definitely what Graham isn't about if the rumours are to be believed.

One possible reason. But Vance seems to me to be a bit light in his loafers as well, so I'm unconvinced.
