Dude, time is stopped. You can keep going until you want time to start again. And I've got a list for you:

  • Every single kiddy diddler? Suddenly in prison, with piles of evidence of their crimes.
  • You can solve every missing persons report where anyone is still alive. It'll take you a while, but you've got the "time."
  • Every bribe of every politician - and especially justices of the Supreme Court - exposed with thorough documentation.
  • Go around and erase all medical debt and all student debt. All of it. Use some of Elon's money to do it.
  • Find and reunite families that were split up by Trump's family separation policies.
  • Cut Russia off from the internet entirely. They've demonstrated that they're not ready to join the broader civilized community. Pay special attention to permanently offlining the "Internet Research Agency."

I'm sure I could come up with more.

40 dollars? That's all? I'm salaried and can work any hours I want to, so I guess I'm logging in at work and writing a few lines of code or answering some emails.

Twenty minutes will do it. Probably round it up to half an hour just to be safe. And honestly, if I get into the zone, an hour will fly by, easy.

Nope. That I will not do. There's no requirement that someone respect the rule of law to comment here.

Not even that. If they were pro-birth, they'd at least be in favor of easy access to prenatal healthcare. But they're always opposed to that, too.

They're just pro-pregnancy. They don't give a shit if a woman's pregnancy is viable or not, let alone whether carrying the fetus to term will kill the woman or not.

With shit like this going on, right-wingers who pretend it's the left censoring speech can fuck themselves sideways with a pineapple.

17 months, 25 days of fucking around, followed by five days of hurriedly entering prompts into ChatGPT?

After working on a team that uses LLMs in agentic mode for almost a year, I'd say this is probably accurate.

Most of the work at this point for a big chunk of the team is trying to figure out prompts that will make it do what they want, without producing any user-facing results at all. The rest of us will use it to generate small bits of code, such as one-off scripts to accomplish a specific task - the only area where it's actually useful.

The shine wears off quickly after the fourth or fifth time it "finishes" a feature by mocking data because so many publicly facing repos it trained on have mock data in them so it thinks that's useful.

In our case, there are enough upper management folks who are opposed to it that I doubt it will last or ever be enforced. For people like me, it really doesn't make any sense to enforce it in the first place, because all of my teammates are in other states and countries.

Making me go to the office just means you can't schedule early meetings with me, because I'll be commuting during that time.

Isn't that literally an act of war against Qatar?

[–] kescusay@lemmy.world 83 points 1 week ago (7 children)

My office just did the same thing. And the backlash is enormous. No one wants it. No one likes it.

For Palestine's sake, we really have to hope that it's not all - or even a majority - of Israelis. I've seen the footage of protests there, and heard interviews with Israelis who reject genocide. They give me some hope that the entire country hasn't lost its mind.

The general Israeli populace needs to come to terms with the fact that their government is now committing a very specific war crime that makes their prisons for Palestinians look like Nazi concentration camps.

There is no positive way to spin this. Starving prisoners is literally what the Nazis did.

Hi there,

I'm the mod for !nottheonion, and I'd like to unban someone. Unfortunately, the user I want to unban doesn't have any content in the community anymore, and I can't find a way to do it.

Help?

Look, I get it. The gargantuan shit-show that is U.S. politics and the American descent into fascism is on everyone's minds. It's certainly on mine.

But the point of this community is to highlight weird news stories that make you go, "By golly, I thought I was reading a headline from The Onion. You know, America's finest news source." A lot of stories being posted lately don't even remotely fit that.

That doesn't mean political stories aren't allowed here, but they must have headlines that would make people pause and wonder if it's a story from The Onion. Straight up regular, non Onion-y headlines don't fit.

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) proposed an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would allow President Trump to serve a third term in the White House so that the country “can sustain the bold leadership our nation so desperately needs.”

For the record, Trump is 78 years old. Assuming he survives and manages to stay in office, he would be 86 when we're finally rid of him.

I can't find any content from this user from which to access the famous three-dots menu to unban them, and the post that resulted in their ban is already long gone, so I can't do it from there.

Could an administrator please unban the user?

The end of an era in Eugene. :'(

WASHINGTON (AP) — The judge overseeing Donald Trump’s 2020 election interference case made public Friday a heavily redacted trove of documents that provide a small glimpse into the evidence prosecutors will present if the case ever goes to trial.

The nearly 1,900 pages of documents collected by special counsel Jack Smith’s team were initially filed under seal to help U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan decide what allegations can proceed to trial following the Supreme Court opinion in July that conferred broad immunity on former presidents for official acts they take in office.

That's gonna be some serious reading over the weekend.

Just spotted that we made this list on Forbes last week. We're famous!

I hate the fact that it's almost fall now, and we're seeing temperatures around 100 degrees fahrenheit and smoke from first fires. In September.

The Biden administration on Wednesday plans to accuse Russia of a sustained effort to influence the 2024 US elections by using Kremlin-run media and other online platforms to target US voters with disinformation, six sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

It’s expected the US will make a series of moves on Wednesday aimed at addressing the Kremlin’s efforts including the White House publicly condemning the actions and the Justice Department announcing law enforcement action targeting the covert Russian campaign, the sources said.

Just a heads up, there's a severe thunderstorm alert right now:
