Work Reform

A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.
Our Philosophies:
- All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
- Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
- Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
- We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.
Our Goals
- Higher wages for underpaid workers.
- Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
- Better and fewer working hours.
- Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
- Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.

I don't know any of the particulars but what if the union advised it's workers to only do the paid work? I don't see how they can be held to account for not doing unpaid work if they all refuse together.
The sticking point in their negotiations is just that - they don't get paid for the work they do when the plane is not in the air.
I think theyre saying just dont do that work.
But they literally can't. Have you seen the average person try to put their suitcase in the overhead bin? Completely ignoring the sign that is plastered on the door and the back to put it on its side?
Have you seen the average person try to find their seat, swearing up and down that they purchased extra leg room only to be really seated next to the lavatory?
The plane would never take off.
Flight crew should be paid the moment they cross security. At that point they've badged in and they should be considered to be at work.
If planes can't take off without this essential work, then the people doing it need to be compensated for it.
Otherwise the plane can stay on the fucking ground.
Counterpoint, everyone doing hourly work should be paid starting the moment they begin their commute, plus half an hour of prep time.
This would effectively stop the flights yes, thats the point. It shows the labor their doing is necessary, and theyre the only ones who can do it. So they should be paid becuase thats what a fucking job is.
They do pre boarding outside the plane. They can't even load the plane if no one does that.
I do belive that will demonstrate the point
Exactly, the planes will never take off.
Lol yeah
