Reminder that Lemmy population is older, this feeling is normal. When I was in school I notice kids in school are more likely excited for new things, while teachers usually cling on to the past, their memories, for the sense of nostalgia, even the liberal-leaning teachers (well they don't announce their politics because that would be very unprofessional, but they use progressive language when teaching and respect pronouns so they are probably liberal) are kinda reluctant when it comes to new tech, I see this divide even amonst teachers themselves, the older the teachers are, the more likely they prefer paper textbooks, while the younger ones tend to incorporate more tech (like internet research during class) into their teachings.

Edit: But I want to add that, I think this "AI" thing is gonna be a bit more different, since printing press, radio, and internet merely change the medium of the transfer of information, while "AI" is also gonna remove much of the "human" aspects of dissemination of information, so it can the potential to cause more harm compared to, say, the internet.
