this is not a good thing. Bending spoons is where services go to die. Their playbook is: First lay of absolutely everyone you can, then maximize monetization until youโ€™ve bled the stone dry, then move on to the next service.

Vimeo is already dead. You can't watch videos on it without an account, unless the video has been labelled as being suitable for everyone, which means any old videos uploaded to vimeo are now unwatchable. I'm not signing up an account to use Vimeo.

When you visit their website it just advertises their video hosting products. There's no way to actually search for and watch videos.

I agree with the layoffs and maximizing monetization. But I think so far they haven't actively killed any of their purchased products. It is in their financial interest to keep things running as long as possible to get their return on investment.
