Yes. This is terrifying to fascists because most of them don't think enough to consider how ideological purity would manifest in a rabidly genocidal ideology and the wealthier ones think they can insulate themselves from the violence. Charlie getting easily killed publicly by one of their own is the exact thing they thought they were safe from.
