Ahhh, that's a fair question. I've pretty much left my feed settings to what they were the day I signed up, other than blocking instances / communities that exclusively use languages I don't know. I guess that means I see Australian, New Zealand..ian, Canadian and other instances, since they all at least partially use the one language I know. I honestly didn't notice you were from an Australian instance until you mentioned it.

I block the ones with which I can't communicate because neither of us is likely to be useful to each other any time soon, but I still want to have some awareness of the world. I'll probably never be in Australia, but I can learn a bit about its politicians, climate and people. Also, I can learn what other countries are saying about America (though I admit I rarely enjoy reading it). Besides that, from what I've seen here and elsewhere, it's a beautiful country if you respect nature. If I had blocked this instance, I wouldn't have seen your lovely block (another thing I might learn - I'm not familiar with that word in this context) nor your interesting box. Or maybe I misunderstood federation.

I'm glad you got to come to NY and enjoyed your stay! I love NY, too, but I've only been to NYC once and that was ... I think three years after the twin towers were gone. I did once see a salvaged piece of their foundation in Baltimore, though, IIRC.

Oh and another thing. The "box" is a shipping container. Good for easy storage.

Temp or permanent. This one is 20 foot. I own three. And no I will not be building a house out of them

Hi again. Well thanks for your reply.

OK a "block" is a block of land. In Australia you buy the block and it's yours forever. ( Well.....)

I'm from England. Over there the land is on a 99 year lease. Here it's your own.

So here you buy a block and then build a house on it. I am going "Owner Builder" which is another thing that's allowed here.

You pass an online course for say $200. Then apply for your licence to build.

Then you submit your plans and eventually start building. Of course some things need contractors to do certain works. I intend to do just about all of it myself over a few years.

I'm currently living in an "Off road" camper trailer. I have electricity to the block. I need to get water connected. ( Currently filling up my tank from a dear neighbour )

I have lots ahead of me. And hey, really nice to hear back from you as I said. I loved America growing up in Northern England.

We were pretty poor and America seemed like another planet kinda.

Well I think you need to visit.......

Cheers. Any questions please ask.

I'm happy to chat.

I've learned a lot just from your comment!

Starting here:

OK a "block" is a block of land. In Australia you buy the block and it's yours forever. ( Well.....)

I have questions.

If you actually want to chat (which seems likely this deep into the thread, but no pressure), I would be happy to do so and have the same username basically everywhere.

I feel obligated to ask about the reality of drop bears.

Your response will tell me a lot about the content of your character.
