Used to live around this area. It’s the safest area in Chicago before these fascist thugs invaded.

Stay safe everyone.

Is it time yet to admit that the Untied States is in the midst of civil war?

[–] GladiusB@lemmy.world 5 points 20 hours ago

They are asking for it. They are scared little boys that want to play war. They can't come up with anything better to do with their time.

[–] Master@sh.itjust.works 211 points 1 day ago (1 children)

There needs tolbe a second side for war. This is just our government persecuting innocents. No war here.

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 87 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (5 children)

Has anyone just shot an ICE agent in the fucking head yet? Once that kinda thing starts happening frequently, we can talk about calling it a civil war.

[–] DrFistington@lemmy.world 43 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I mean, ice has shot people, repeatedly, sometimes in the head

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 59 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah but its not a war until someone shoots back...

[–] atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works 31 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Honestly they seem to be carefully avoiding the places most likely to shoot back.

[–] SARGE@startrek.website 20 points 1 day ago

Weird how "law enforcement" always seems to avoid the places where they might get something more than a papercut.

Almost like they're cowards...

[–] CatsPajamas@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 day ago

Yeah they're conspicuously avoiding places like Arizona with their bullshit.

If that starts, Trump will attempt a serious and possibly effective takeover of the government. There's a reason there isn't violence being used to respond to his bullshit.

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 19 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I'm still baffled that this hasn't happened. fucking 2A freaks just sitting back and watching. fucking do something about it for fuck's sake, you literally have people invading your communities and taking people and you just sit back and watch, it's disgusting

[–] Gerudo@lemmy.zip 28 points 1 day ago (3 children)

2A freaks are the ones who WANT this to happen, as long as it's not "their" people.

[–] Tinidril@midwest.social 18 points 1 day ago

2A freaks, Jan 6ers and white nationalist militia members are the ones Trump recruited to wear the masks.

[–] Serinus@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (2 children)

It's a white women named Debbie.

If we're going down the list of "Then they came for the...", there's not much left. First they came for the... US citizen white women? She graduated from Columbia College Chicago in Film and Video in 1998. Because they didn't like her?

They're accusing her of "assault on a federal law enforcement officer". It's just as likely, if not more likely, that the newscast (WGN) said something ICE didn't like and started targeting them.

This is a huge line they've just crossed. This is full, 100%, straight up Gestapo.

[–] Gerudo@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

She was at a protest, that's enough for MAGA. The only safe person are white Christian MAGA who stay home.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

She graduated from Columbia College Chicago in Film and Video in 1998.

There is a huge swathe of meatheads in this country that have been trained to feel that going to higher education is a bad thing.

[–] krashmo@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If that bothers you then gun shops are still open. There's nothing stopping you from doing what it seems like you want somebody else to do for you.

[–] Gerudo@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago

Maybe it's too early for me, but I don't really get what you are trying to say. What do you think I want someone to do for me?

[–] killea@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Drump will then attempt to deploy the military nationwide, he's waiting for that. If there isn't a military coup at that point, it ain't happening.

[–] SalaciousBCrumb@lemy.lol 42 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Trump does not need an excuse, he has lied and made up everything else to date without consequence.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 19 points 1 day ago

He was on tv today saying what a disaster area Portland is in his delusional world

[–] killea@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That is obvious enough; I meant that an actual, real event would put blood in the water in a unique way, a more tangible casus belli. I imagine that many sane and aware citizens have pondered doing the violence on some level, but probably conclude it's ultimately ineffective; though I haven't seen any fed thugs in my area, I can't say I wouldn't attempt to defend a proximal bystander with lethal force. We're separated, distracted, divided, and surveilled so cutting off all of the heads of the snake is kinda tough.

[–] Ydna@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Remember there's strength in numbers. Acting alone is risky, you would greatly benefit from some backup in a situation like that (in Minecraft).

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 14 points 1 day ago

There plenty of time left in his legal term to come up with other excuses to do it.

[–] dickalan@lemmy.world -1 points 1 day ago

i'm with you on that

[–] dickalan@lemmy.world -5 points 1 day ago

I know I shouldn't ask AI but perplexity keeps on telling me the number is going up with each new revelation

[–] HazardousBanjo@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

There was an Ice agent shot by some armed folks that attacked a detention center a number of months ago.

One got away. It's hard to tell what happened to him because they were intentionally ordering the story to be covered up.

[–] STUNT_GRANNY@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

If this was the attack you were referring to, ~~sadly~~ technically it was a local cop that was shot, not an ICE agent. And the cop survived.

We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless ― if the left allows it to be

  • Kevin Roberts, president of the right-wing Heritage Foundation
[–] pivot_root@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago

The fact that that statement was never treated as treason or conspiracy to commit an insurrection is both disappointing and expected.

[–] criss_cross@lemmy.world 45 points 1 day ago

Nah we need to keep generating court orders that no one will listen to.

[–] Viiksisiippa@lemmy.ml 25 points 1 day ago

The U.S. is in the process of second revolution, and it will remain bloodless (mostly) if “the left” allows it.

Just as the president of Heritage Foundation Kevin Roberts told us and the U.S. over a year ago, well before the elections.

I’m using the invocation of the Insurrection Act and declaration of Martial Law as the demarcation point. When the military is literally waging war upon its own citizens in their own cities, it may finally become undeniable to the average person.

[–] wirebeads@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago

It’s already started and just like the last one, it’s still rich white people against brown skin tones.

Americans never fucking learn, but justifiably kill each other over their complete and absolute ignorance and arrogance and inability to read a history text book.

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works -1 points 1 day ago

No. But this is certainly awful.
