Random thoughts after digesting for a day:
Overall the scope of the show was what I expected from 2 hrs VOD presentation. I didn't expect to hear that much about major changes so I was quite happy to hear about PlanetTech / Nyx 1 and proto-crafting going into tech preview by EOY. I like that they're dribbling Nyx out to us and we get it so soon! And the 2026 content looks great. And I like that they're getting the Vaduul into the game, including the capital ship. And I really need to find a way to be able to be on mic when I play.
Tiny disappoint: I assumed the distance between Nyx and Stanton would be the impetus for introducing data-running gameplay (along with interstellar missions) so I'm a just a little bummed they're adding the temporary jump point in Stanton. If only because I'm itching to have a reason to fly a Drake Harold. I'm guessing (in addition to getting more players into Nyx) it will also let them run Pyro in fewer server shards because it won't become a major highway.
Bigger disappointment: I feel like the "Road to 1.0" segment at the end was lacking a big picture focus. To be honest what I want to hear from CIG is what state they're trying to get the PU to before SQ42 launches; since we're expecting it to launch before SC 1.0. I'm sure that will be a topic once there's a firm release date for Squadron, but CitCon seems like the place they should be talking about it.
Edit: And I'm trying to talk myself out of a Shiv. It checks all my boxes, seems like a great scavenging ship or a gem mining camper. And a $135 LTI token is attractive. But I'm really frustrated they didn't take the time to give the Cutlas part a gold-pass with accessible components.
