Between that and the shit apps that you use to watch the various streaming services, it's getting to the point where I'm about to buy a super-cheap laptop to put into the HDMI port, so I can watch through a web browser & block or sidestep some of that shit.
Yesterday I was trying to watch NFL football. The app I pay for wasn't working. Rebooted the TV a couple of times. Rebooted the Wi-Fi did all the troubleshooting yada yada yada. I lost the entire first quarter before I open up. The laptop took 30 seconds to find ' alternative', casted that to my TV from a different room and enjoyed cheering on my team for the rest of the game.
In the middle of the second half I started asking myself why I'm paying for an app that forces me to do the things that I did 10 years ago to stream games..... Yo ho ho, where's that bottle of rum?.
I made the mistake of paying for MLB tv. Can’t pause, can’t rewind, nonstop commercials for MLBtv on their own channel. Not making the same mistake with football and hockey
Yarrr
And we're back to 2010 just like that
We have pc's for every tv. Never looking back.
Enjoy navigating through your TV's UI every time you power up just to select the HDMI input!
Every smart TV I have owned will automatically select the most recent HDMI input when turned back on.
Mine updated recently (Vizio) and now ALWAYS chooses "smart cast" upon reboot. And I have to wait for it to complete, painfully, slowly, load so I can switch to HDMI.
If the HDMI channel doesn't have anything it gives me 5 seconds before it switches to smart cast as well. Which is a huge pita
Did you connect it to the internet on purpose?
We where using it as a smart TV and then stopped. It's not connected anymore
Still a preferred tradeoff for the convenience
Our main TV is what I use for my monitor and it's great. Everything all in one place. It's all voice activated though so that helps with switching inputs when needed. I just tell it to switch to PC and everything is ready to go 🤷♀️. I do think you might be being a little dramatic about changing the input. It takes like one second. Especially if you had to grab the remote to turn on the TV anyway it's an extra button or two lol
And that's where you lose all credibility.
Oh no! Anyway.
