Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!
Rules:
- Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.
Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.
Example:
- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.
That's all the rules!

Why wasn't he immediately thrown in jail for that?! Fucking rich people.
Should still be in contempt of court either way.
Ok? And? Why wasn't he thrown in jail for that? I read the article.
Because that’s not technically illegal until the gag order, which went into effect after the post was made.
It's not illegal to threaten someone?
He wasn't threatening. He was insulting. The word "attack" is misleading in this context.
The threat wasn't explicit, but it was certainly implicit. That's why he posted her personal social media info. He is fully aware he has an army of followers that will take that and run with it. I don't think that he should be able to get away with that so easily.
Which is why he now has a gag order. The act of posting someone’s ig isn’t illegal, but now it is with the gag order.
If I had thousands of followers and I posted your social media info while insulting you, wouldn't you consider that a threat? I don't think a gag order, which was very narrow, is much of a punishment.
Legally that is not a threat. Now it is a violation of the gag order, which is illegal. A lawyer could try and argue it is a threat, but that could take much longer, set precedent for future cases, and isn’t as guaranteed as a gag order.
He was also inciting his followers.
Whether or not it rises to the level of "inciting imminent lawless action" is a different topic, but it's not like he was merely insulting someone to their face - he was pointing tens of millions of his psycho followers at her.
I expect the judge to do something about it once he found out more than a narrow gag order, but apparently that's asking too much.
Why does the defendent get to be on his phone during his own trial?
There’s no rule against it
Us poors can't bring cell phones into the courthouse.
Err, what courthouse are you talking about? Never seen an outright ban just gotta silence/turn it off.
Every courthouse I've been to in my area will not allow cell phones inside. Must be a state-based or county-based thing.
Fucking seriously. This man is bad enough without clickbait bullshit.
I saw "Trump" and "attacked" and immediately knew he was spittin words lol
For real! Putting it on social media WHILE IN COURT, should be the same as if he stood up and said it in front of the judge.
