If you're gonna be sulky about safety measures, that's a sign you're not ready to learn
Junior isn't even wearing a seatbelt.
And no eye protection. A fly hitting your cornea at 60kmh is no joke.
This happened to me on my moped once with a mosquito and it slid all the way behind my eyelid. Had to stop to finger it out like a lost contact.

That's not even a safety measure though
An L plate is very much a safety measure. It lets other flyers know that you're a beginner, and hence to give you more space and caution than they otherwise would.
~~Drivers~~ Flyers allowed greater headway between themselves and a slower ambulance, but ~~drove~~ flew closer to the work-van, and followed Learner ~~drivers~~ flyers at a dangerously close distance, leaving greater headway behind a similar, unmarked ~~car~~ broom.
You're wrongly assuming the average flyer is emotionally capable of operating a broom.
Fair, that probably varies a lot depending on the average driver in your country.
