This show just came to an end and it's got to be one of the worst shows I've ever seen, but somehow always entertaining. Preferable if the show has a large amount of viewers to trash it and laugh at it.

That was my impression too but after rereading it, I wonder if it's satire taking a dig at our insane reality in the US.

I thought that initially as well (actually I thought it was the shitty Tina fey news spoof for a second, I won’t lie), but they call trump a character later
