In Germany, at least im my region, Valentine's Day almost exclusively exists in media, mostly with US origin. Same as with other occasions popularized by it, there are special sales and Valentine's Day specific stuff to buy in supermarkets. But I never talked to anyone who makes a big deal out of it.

Of course it's not from the US originally, very few things are. But it's where people know it from around here.

Yes, kind of how Halloween was originally a Celtic celebration, then went to the US and came back.
