Is that what Walt Gisnep is right now?

[-] magic_lobster_party@kbin.run 85 points 6 months ago

Disney will soon announce the new movie Soup in an attempt to take over the top search results of “Disney Soup”.

[-] Norgur@fedia.io 65 points 6 months ago

So that's why it's called Frozen!

[-] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago

Ugh. Terrible. I love it!

[-] maynarkh@feddit.nl 15 points 6 months ago

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised

[-] samus12345@lemmy.world 15 points 6 months ago

Gisnep

Is this a thing I'm not aware of, or just a very strange typo?

[-] ChairmanMeow@programming.dev 51 points 6 months ago

I'll give you the p, but in which world is that a G?

[-] funkless_eck@sh.itjust.works 11 points 6 months ago
[-] jaybone@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

Oh, because things are not the things that they are.

Why not Malt?

[-] samus12345@lemmy.world 8 points 6 months ago

Malt Disney, the good version of Walt.

[-] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 months ago

Still looks more like a G than a D to me.

Ain't nothin' but a G thang

[-] samus12345@lemmy.world 0 points 6 months ago

That makes no sense. Why would it be read mirrored?

[-] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 5 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

ωal⅂ Әisnep

... or perhaps ⧢al7?

[-] JackFrostNCola@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

That 'y' has pissed me off since i was a child. I was always baffled as to why it was spelt Disnep but pronounced Disney, especially while learning digraphs at school and it didnt fit in with any of the sounds the letter combinations were supposed to make.

Lol i was one minute slower than you

[-] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 22 points 6 months ago

Well, that's what their logo says, I don't know what to tell you

[-] the_post_of_tom_joad@sh.itjust.works 12 points 6 months ago

Funny, i know the answer because i just recently ran into that meme. Simple meme about how Walt Disney's trademark signature looks like "Gisnep", . I get the "p" part, and i guess the "D" does looks like a backwards "G".

[-] samus12345@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Thank you, I knew I must have been missing something. I can see the P, but the G makes no sense to me. Walp Disnep.

[-] idiomaddict@feddit.de 1 points 6 months ago
[-] samus12345@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago

Same here when writing cursive, but Walt's D still doesn't look anything like that to me.

[-] idiomaddict@feddit.de 2 points 6 months ago

It’s pretty similar to a hasty cursive g

[-] SoleInvictus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 6 months ago

I'd wager they meant Walt Disney.

[-] samus12345@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

Indeed, but it was spelled that way deliberately.

[-] SoleInvictus@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 6 months ago

I see it now! Thanks for the nudge.

Inside Out was inspired by an exec sneaking a peak at his head (jk?)
