Jesus fuck
Don't worry. "God made them this way".
Who loves all his creations.
Apparently some more than others, but the caterpillar just needs to have faith in a higher purpose.
Darwin disagrees.
For context for everyone else: https://web.archive.org/web/20200405172817/http://www.asa3.org/ASA/PSCF/2001/PSCF9-01Miles.html
Parasitic wasps that ate caterpillars from the inside out were one of the main reasons for Darwin to become increasingly skeptical of religion.
I love the part where there's a virus that some wasps carry and inject with the eggs that suppresses the host's immune response
Jesus always finds a way
That's the worst thing I've seen all month
I just watched that video of the white cabbage larva with the smaller larvae exiting its body. Jeez, it's still alive after THAT? Life's rich pageant, I guess.
Oh that's dark.
If that's a tomato horn worm, I'm on the wasps side...
Hornworms are a delicious treat for any lizard large enough to eat them. Bearded dragons seem to love them. If you catch them and put them into a container with a food/water source anyone with a pet like that will happily pay you for them.
They also make a good first pet for kids because they're cheap and die fast anyways
The worms or the kids?
Yes.
But only a treat. Maybe theres been more science done in the past 5 years, but I remember them being basically junk food for lizards.
Sure, wax worms and hornworms have a higher fat:protein content than is “healthy” for your captive lizard. A treat is exactly that, you should not feed them only snacks everyday just like your dogs or cats or yourself!
Wow those are huge!
Fuck wasps
holy guacamole. The Lottery vibe
