I remember first watching this show and loving it. Story, jokes, setting, characters all hit right. Over time I've come to gradually like R&M less and less. I think it's a show that came into existence at the right place and right time but has overstayed its welcome.

same, i stopped after S3

[-] 5oap10116@lemmy.world 4 points 4 weeks ago

I stopped watching after S2 mostly because I didn't have access but I'm glad I did because it's solidified in my mind as an amazing show and hasn't been ruined yet. I will continue to believe that. Maybe years down the road I'll watch it with my future crotch goblin

[off topic]

The Venture Brothers is a much funnier show. Watch that.

[-] 50MYT@aussie.zone 19 points 4 weeks ago

are these them?

These are they

Brock and helper arguing about the dumbest shit is also so funny every time. Such an epic show.

[-] Dagwood222@lemm.ee 14 points 4 weeks ago

Brock alone could have carried three seasons.

Pretty much any character's normal day would make a great show.

[-] RebekahWSD@lemmy.world 6 points 4 weeks ago

I still remember the uhh yard sale episode from time to time and giggle

[-] Blaze@sopuli.xyz 32 points 4 weeks ago

I'm surprised there are 11 seasons

[-] hOrni@lemmy.world 23 points 4 weeks ago

It'll end up like Family Guy. 20 seasons, people only watched 6.

[-] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 17 points 4 weeks ago

i loved rick and morty but lost interest after waiting so many years between early seasons

[-] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 6 points 4 weeks ago

I enjoyed it but, much like Doctor Who, a very loud minority of the people who watch it are insufferable. They sucked the joy out of it for me.

[-] TherapyGary@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 4 weeks ago

There are only 7 seasons released rn, and they're currently working on season 8

[-] coyootje@lemmy.world 8 points 4 weeks ago

Over here in NL I've only ever seen like 5 or 6 seasons, I had no idea there were that many already. Are the later seasons any good?

[-] tobogganablaze@lemmus.org 17 points 4 weeks ago

Currently only 7 seasons are out.

[-] toothbrush@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 4 weeks ago

They loose a bit in coherence but there are still great episodes, in my opinion.

[-] SplashJackson@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 weeks ago

I was in Newfoundland months ago and they had only two seasons. Now you're telling me they're up to 6???

[-] humblebun@sh.itjust.works 19 points 4 weeks ago

As if we haven't had enough

[-] Gradually_Adjusting@lemmy.world 8 points 4 weeks ago

This series has been with us since 2013. It has begun to feel almost anachronistic.

By any objective measure it has been highly successful. Its fans do rather detract from its shine though, many have felt.

[-] Honytawk@lemmy.zip 7 points 4 weeks ago

As with many things, the community makes it worse

[-] umbrella@lemmy.ml 15 points 4 weeks ago

its a good show, but im afraid it might have died along with justin

[-] Honytawk@lemmy.zip 14 points 4 weeks ago

Justin didn't die, he just chatted with minors using his Morty voice.

[-] tacosanonymous@lemm.ee 13 points 4 weeks ago

I definitely like earlier seasons more but I’m glad he's gone. I like the new variety of voices instead of every side character sounding like Morty doing an impression of someone else.

[-] EtherWhack@lemmy.world 5 points 4 weeks ago

That's what turned me off, aside from cynical humor feeling overly forced.

[-] entropicdrift@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 4 weeks ago

S7 was the best one yet IMO

[-] KeefChief13@lemmy.world 11 points 4 weeks ago

12 seasons??? I can't remember an episode past s3.

[-] swag_money@lemmy.world 9 points 4 weeks ago

tbh i didn't know the show even had 5 seasons

[-] EnderMB@lemmy.world 5 points 4 weeks ago

I want to like Rick and Morty, but I just feel like every season is a blocker on Dan Harmon writing the fucking Community movie we've all been waiting for for over a decade.

[-] Hadriscus@lemm.ee 3 points 4 weeks ago

Awesome. This show is a reservoir of good ideas, I'm seldom let down by an episode

[-] 3ntranced@lemmy.world 2 points 4 weeks ago

Same, I don't get the hate in all the comments. Maybe it's misdirected feelings from the fallout of JR or hyper-analyzation, I don't get it.

[-] donescobar@lemmy.world -1 points 4 weeks ago

This show had zero hate until the fallout and somehow it’s just not good enough for msm. People are hyper sensitive over anything these days.

I thought this show was always running outside the guidelines of modern fragility but I guess it flew too close to the sun.

[-] pineapplelover@lemm.ee 3 points 4 weeks ago

I feel like the last few season got dragged on. It got very weird and uncohesive
