For the life of me, I cannot conceive how the benefit of the doubt could be given to these law enforcement agents that stated it was a case of suicide when this man had an active lawsuit against an Alabama local police department - and he was found far from his home in an abandoned home.
I hope the perpetrators of this murder will be discovered and that justice will be served.

Reason #2,476,397 why conservatives should never be permitted to hold positions of authority.
A conservative must use the power they are given to harm others. It's an innate part of being a conservative.
A city of 10,000. So basically a medium sized college. Which means the police are certain to "bump" into anyone who files complaints against them.
Almost like none of these local police forces are credible, in any capacity. The FBI needs to start disbanding them and barring their officers from public positions.
There's no "reforming" a corrupt police force.
Sheffield is part of a group of cities that cluster together called "the shoals" with a population of around 160k.

Southern 'police' are absolutely terrifying.
They are an absolute force in their own right, with 0 limitation or accountability, they are judge, jury and executioner as they see fit.
As someone who lives in the area this is the first I've heard of this. No mention of it locally. But i could see it happening. There was an officer, named in his lawsuit, who was fired for being somewhat a brutal racist about 2 years ago.
